30801: Kidderminster (This is currently the only Plaxton Centro at the Kidderminster Depot)
30806: Burnley Scrap Yard Having a New Engine After its MAN engine blew up while operating a X3 service to Redditch last month. When 30806 arrived in Bromsgrove Black Smoke was pouring out the back 806 did make it to Redditch Bus Station well the entry at least where it stopped for the next 4 hours and stopped any other buses from getting into the Bus Station for 4 hours!!!! ::)

one question  why does a bus have to go to a scrap yard to have a new engine fitted ? would it not be cheaper to bring the engine down here to the bus and fitted here in the midlands. perhaps tony or winston  can  answer thins for me

@Cedric I guess you mean 580 is been MPD's since Diamond started running it last week.
803 can be anything i.e. what's available.

@Cedric Now this is Diamond 30806 will probably not return to Diamond Kidderminster it will more than likely go to SLT which is closer to Burnley.

reece   I  just thought it seams  expensive  to  do it that way. paying for a tow truck to take it there rather than bring engine down in a van

It's Barnsely where the scrap yards are, not Burnley.

Plenty of Diamond Buses have been sighted up there before and then returned to service in the WM when repaired.

I suppose the logic is that if the engine turns out to be no good (no guarantee on engine condition on scrap vehicles) then they can just swap in another one. Rather than ferrying large bulky engines backwards and forwards across the country.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Is the x3 a nice fast route?
Also what is the 303 like, I've heard it's very nice?

PVR 3
1hr 4 mins between Redditch Bus Station and Kidderminster General Hospital via Bromsgrove Road Redditch, Bromsgrove Highway A448, A38, New Road, Bromsgrove Bus Station, A448 Kidderminster Road, Chaddsley Corbbett, Mustow Green, Stone, Kidderminster Railway Bridge, Town Hall, Ring Road A456, Kidderminster general hospital  then off to Stourport.

It's fast ish depending on traffic in Bromsgrove and Kidderminster and the A448 Bromsgrove Highway.
Midland Red West, one of the best Companies to serve Redditch, with some of the best buses.
