While passing through Sparkbrook on my way home this evening, there were two 8Es to 'Saltley' following each other on Walford Road (towards Highgate Road).

If that just after 6pm there was a 8E to Five Ways just in front of those two as well just pulled away from the stop on Highgate Road as the two Saltley buses were just pulling up to the lights.

You can make a thread of its own for untimetabled 11Es. Every school day without fail there's at least a couple.

Shouldn't a short on the 11A be an 11AE ??
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

No they display 11E.

Exactly, but it must mislead people, stranger asks what bus goes from Bearwood to Selly Oak and is told they need an 11A, get to stop and 11E shows up to Acocks Green, most likely they will let the bus go bu because they need an 11A

Well there are the daily 11E journeys someone will just get on in Stechford thinking it is going to Erdington when the destination displays 11E Ward End then changes to 11E Short Journey @Stuharris 6360
But the regulars are used to the 11E jouneys now from what I can see maybe I think someone who doesn't know the route very well would though.

Being a circular route there shouldn't really be that much confusion. The side of the road the bus on should help as well as the destination

I've had a group of four catch the 11C from Kings Heath to Stechford. When I got to Bearwood they got up and asked how long to Stechford and were unhappy with my response of approx 75mins. I told them they caught the wrong bus, the 11A would have been quicker. So basically people are already struggling with the letters lol

They must have asked someone the directions got the response "Get the 11!" without any knowledge of which direction to go in !

My only 1 annoyance with an E journey was I boarded an 11C which displayed "Outer Circle" on it (Midday) in Erdington, hoping to go to Stechford, when it got to Fox and Goose, driver told everyone to get off and when I checked the display said "11E Ward End". I understand E journeys although even people who just got on 2 stops before getting back off were annoyed the driver changed the signage more or less at the end of the journey

Likely possibility there would be he was about to get RTA'd (driven nearly all his hours) and was driving NIS to the relief point, or he was getting adjusted and another 11 was pretty much behind yours.
