Young buses written off

If I remember rightly 4014 was written off due to electrical fault hence the fire damage.

No it was due to arson.

Another one I can think of, 4088 was only 8 years old when it was withdrawn.

4030 as well, a few months before 4088 was withdrawn.

4088 was an engine fire, I think on Colmore Row. Why was 4030 withdrawn, was it an engine fire as well?

Were 1623 and 1589 the only 2 buses damaged in this fire, John?

Not sure Matt. I think a few more were damaged, but not seriously.

It was in West Brom garage itself, no dought some people will be able to tell us more

1698 was damaged by fire as well wasn't it? Didn't the engine have to be replaced? It's got 1532's engine now, I think. Forgot to mention that 1623 was replaced by the demonstrator 1743, which is now at PE,  ::)

Arriva North East Temsa Avenue 4708 (YJ59 BHZ) was only two years old when it became a fireball and was scrapped I believe?

There was a Trident with First Manchester that was completely gutted when nearly new. I will link when I find the picture on Flickr

Still trying to find out which this one was. I'm pretty sure this is the one http://www.flickr.com/photos/73858260@N04/6658767543/. No idea of a ID or when it happened, but I;m sure it was less than a few years old. I remember reading that the chassis was kept until 2012 (as seen in the pic), when it was finally sent for scrap
