How do repaints work with the warranty? Surely adl can argue that it's not the original paint job so that has compromised the protection to the body?

On the other hand NXWM could argue that the original paintwork turned matt pink.

They came all white iirc and they did the red front in house look at some of the old photos of the ex yw and ex WA enviros

A lot of the 47xx did but I thought 4800-29 arrived fully painted. I may be wrong in that.

I seem to remember 4800-29 being delivered directly to BC, rather than WA, so they probably would have been painted before delivery.

@Mike K - you're correct, onlt the first batch of E400's 4760 onwards came in allover white as did some of the Scania Omnilinks during the change from TWM toothpaste livery to NXWM with radiator bars

I seem to remember 4737 being the first version of the NXWM livery (orangey shade of red, and the front panel being white). Was that one delivered like that or delivered in white too? It was the only one at PB, except for the ones for the 993 if my memory is correct. The rest being toothpaste?

4718-36 delivered in 'Toothpaste' livery. I'm sure that 4737 and the Yardley Wood Enviro400s were delivered like that (I also think 4769-76 were too). The Perry Barr DP buses (4763-7) were delivered in plain white. Tony pictures seem to confirm this

The Coventry OmniLinks were also delivered in white, all of the rest I'm sure were already painted before delivery

@MW Going off Tony's photo's, you're right, 4737 to circa 4759 came in basic red/white with white front panels, it then changed to allover white from 4760-67 possibly earlier as NX were still tinkering with livery application /shades of red etc then 4768-4776 back to basic red/white with white front panel

4800-4829 arrived in red and white iirc - there was a photo on this forum of one broken down on the Middleway in lane 2 on delivery I seem to remember - they had service 9 and 99 branding with route diagrams applied at BC - there were photos of this happening as well.

4738-4776 had a multitude of identities - at least three different logos and sometimes more than one on the same bus!! I didn't think any of them were in toothpaste livery though and entered service in red and white. The PB omnilinks were also in NX livery when they entered service - I took a photo of one at Showbus that year.

1844-47 were delivered in allover white & fronts painted at WA, along with NXC's 1863-1877 (these had the addition of connector bars already applied)

Some of the Lea Hall ones in the 179x series entered service without the silver stripes which led me to think the silver stripes were applied at TWM/NX
