why is 4218 the only 42** bus at BC and the rest are with CV, Didnt notice it until just

4200-4202 recently transferred BC - PN

4218 is undergoing some form of long term repair work I think

It was new to Coventry, then when it was 3 months old, this happened

A firework set off on top deck while working a school service

It was repaired, but reinstated to Yardley Wood, I guess they needed an extra Trident at the time, for the Weoley Castle routes 21 and 29, or one of their other routes

Yes, it was involved in an crash with a bin lorry than ran a red light, and is under repair. I would like to see it either reutn to Coventry, or go on to Pensnett when repaired.

This is what makes 4218 my favourite bus in the fleet, because it is different from all of the rest of the Coventry Y-TOH Tridents

Indeed John.

Its easy to get attached to a bus which has history behind it.

Nice detailed history as well. Thanks John :)

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Yes it has Nathan. It transferred from Yardley Wood in November 2012 when they lost all of their Y-TOH Tridents upon receiving Presidents. I believe the accident was a good few months ago now, so I would imagine repairs may be nearly complete

Here is 4218 on the 900E

I was under the impression it was involved in a crash before it entered service at BC

It would have had a little over 6 months service at Central

So right now this minute what Garage is it in ?

I think Nathan means where is it physically located at the moment? As buses usually go elsewhere for repairs.

Officially it is still allocated to Central, but I don't know where it is been repaired

Either, at a place like Carlysle in West Bromwich (on the 74 route), or in another NX garage that carries out serious repairs

:D

One of the new branded buses on the 900 uses NXC ticket paper roll, I wonder why and how they got them if they're based at BC garage.

It must have ran out and the driver did not have any spare. So to get some, they may have had to ask a driver on a bus in Coventry for some, or went into the garage to ask for some

I remember when I was at BC they were going to start a trial on the 900 which uses NXC ticket rolls, to coincide with the branding.

I don't know if that is relevant.

Forgive me since I never bought paper tickets, but isn't having NXC ticket means NXWM buses might reject it because they might think it's only valid for NXC buses?

All Daysavers etc. are valid on both NXWM and NXC buses aren't they?
