Quote from: Stu on August 24, 2023, 06:19:39 PMNext year, at the earliest, for the 'proper' full Sprint launch with articulated vehicles. Personally, I think it won't happen until 2025, or maybe won't even happen at all.
If it is articulated buses then I hope it doesn't happen at all. As far as I'm aware the seating capacity on these pretend trams is lower than a double decker, if that is the case then there is no way passengers who normally sit on a double decker will not want to stand on a pretend tram !

Quote from: ellspurs on August 24, 2023, 06:10:12 PMQuery: what timeframe do they have for the Sprint Walsall-Solihull service to be launched? Moving the x2 onto the x12/x13 rota doesn't seem to be something that would just be done for a short time.
Are the early morning International - City journeys going to Coventry as well? Presuming these will still run?

They're in the updated timetable dated 3rd September. If the bus is already out then there'd be no dead running, right?

Would just need to make sure that the buses were rather well charged before they go out.

I would guess those journeys could 'potentially' be continued to be operated from BC with diesel vehicles, would make sense from an operational point of view.

Depends I suppose on how well they are used, if they only ever carry a handful of passengers, then might end up being scrapped.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Currently the bus runs dead from BC to Moor Street to start at 1.05 I think.

QuoteSo looks like
...
- X2 will be going onto Bromford Rota along with X12/X13.

Are the X12/X13/X14 currently on the same rota?

I'm sure they'll keep them since it does link to an international airport. Haven't the journeys been running for years as well?
23 - Bartley Green
76 - Northfield
X20 - Birmingham Via Longbridge, Northfield & QE Hospital / University

Quote from: BusDriverBosh on August 24, 2023, 05:57:49 PMSo looks like
- X1 going to Coventry garage.
- X14 going back to Perry Barr.
- 14 coming back to Birmingham Central. Will be joining the Stechford Rota along with 94/95.
- X2 will be going onto Bromford Rota along with X12/X13.
The 14 and X14 swap should have happened January, But they cancel each other out now. So with the X1 going...couldn't that possibly leave a new route for BC to pick up?

The real trams are bad enough

As far as I know Bromford Rota used to be
60/X12/X13
then
X12/X13/X14
and will be
X2/X12/X13

I'm not sure what routes BC could pick up because dead milage has to be taken into consideration, it would have to be a route that goes into the city centre given the location (currently) of the garage. Me personally I would like to see something like the 6 or the 67 come to BC but that's me.

They should have just left the 60 on the bromford rota, would have given us drivers on the 60 a bit of variety instead of just doing the 60 all the time haha

Is the 60 on its own rota now?

14 has a higher PVR than the X14?

Yes it was a lot higher than the  X14 but with the X1 going to Coventry here will probably be about 7 spare platinums
