New member wishes to photograph former Coventry Scanias, Walsall or Birmingham. I have read the in depth topic on the relocation of the buses, but still uncertain of where to visit. If they are at Perry Bar, where would I see these on service in Birmingham. Are they in new colours of red and white, anyh details would be welcome. tom

All 15 are at Perry Barr. They have had a front end repaint into red, the white is untouched.

You may see some in the City Centre, on the 66 stops on The Priory Queensway, and on the 46 on Livery Street, off Colmore Row.

The best place to see them in my opinion is Erdington. As the 28, 66 and 66A all go through there (These are 3 out of 5 of the main OmniLink routes at Perry Barr, the others been the 46, and 952, but the 952 has leather seated Omnilinks on it, but others do work it as well). You would see the majority of them on these routes (the 638 may also have one on there), but be aware that Perry Barr also have at least another 20 OmniLinks not the ex-Coventry ones. The 46 is also ran by OmniLinks, in Birmingham City Centre. There may be one or 2 on another Perry Barr route that is usually double deck operated

The 66A on Monday was ran by 7031 and 1906.

The ex-Coventry OmniLinks will appear on the 66A as well, as well as the Perry Barr natives so to speak! it is just where they are allocated to on a specific day

Just so long as PE don't get any, think they are horrid buses.

Hated the Scania's: Dark interior, cramped seating.

The first batch of OmniLinks are much better inside because they have blue floors, seats and interior panels, making the interior lighter, compared to 1848 onwards, with grey seats and panels, are dark inside

I have a feeling some of 1863-1877 will be back at CV within the next two years due to ALL the mercs being withdrawn in the next two years! If not, we will probably get some of the other NXWM scanias like the 09 or 10 plates. Also it brought back memories seeing one of Johnsons 63 plate scanias in Coventry on the train station bridge!
Favourite buses currently:
871, 1828, 4421, 4764, 6101, 6108, 6116, 6118, 6121, 6848, 6849
Least favourite buses currently:
4203, 4213, 4398, 4419

Kevin

Doubtful, if anything the mercs would get replaced with new Eclipses or deckers
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

It is not unusual for buses to end up back at their original home.

For the Omnilinks to return to CV, PB would require 15 new single deckers to replace them
Class 153, 155 and 156. The Super Sprinters
"Around the corner" routes: 21, 89
Local routes: 12/A, 48/A
Semi-local routes: 54, 80, 87

Most used routes in bold

The legroom is pretty poor on omnilinks. Although arriva tamworth ones seem to be a bit better
