two more busses went up in flames today from pn, an x96 branded merc, 16 somthing, that was in high oak returning to garage, and then  a b6 was on staff bus went up in flames on pear tree lane.

Are we talking serious damage or a small contained engine fires?

They are certainly keeping the fire brigade busy..... its not even summer yet either with overheating problems etc

The next transfer in to Pensnett will be a NXWM liveried fire engine......  ;D

Sounds like Pensett have a case of the pyromaniac gremlins.  ::)

Surely Pensnett must be upto something, there's just too many fires happening to be a coincidence?

Yeah, called ridding the depot of rubbish!

Thanks for the update

Not another Merc gone, that will most likely be a refurb as well

PE's merc's and B6LE's have done very weel to last until now but I maintain they deserve more new or newer buses in the future. I know recently there has been an improvement but for many years PE went without any new buses for years.

What the hell is going on, 1663, 1664, 508, 1644, 555 all with engine fires, surely that suggests bad maintainance.

Are PE not keeping the engine compartments clean?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Stu,

Don't forget Nitromatt reported 1628 also having a small fire/fire engine in attendance a month or so ago

Trident 4609

Yes Matt was on 1628 on the 244 when it happened. But it musn't be bad as i've seen it in service many times afterwards in service.

PS. Matt will probably be a bit gutted as 555(Which he calls the Screaming Cat ;)) is his favourite B6 and one of his favorite buses in the fleet.

Ex pensnett driver

555 was by far the best b6 to drive hope they fix it

Couldn't see 1644 when I just popped around Pensnett, there was one or two of the engineering bays with the shutters down though. 508 appears to be back out parked in the yard, assume its either repaired or awaiting parts?
