Surely if a NXWM bus is going to go to Hayley Green it will be the 4H to match diamond's 4H service.

I'm surprised NXWM haven't extended their 4H to serve Hasbury & Hayley Green, as it would serve roads no longer served by NX buses

I don't think it's really necessary, the 244 does a good enough job, even if it must be NXWM's most unreliable service

Since the 244 was diverted down Bassnage Road to get to the Squirrels Estate, Thornhill, Huntingree, Dunstall & Landsdown Roads no longer have a NXWM service.

You can't expect every little residential street to have a NXWM service though, and you won't be more than a 5 minute walk from a bus stop on the 244's route on any of those roads

Dunstall Road has the 142 doesn't it? Many passengers on the 244 are elderly people who just want to catch a ride into town, it doesn't matter which company as long as they can use their concessionary pass

Hardly little residential streets, they are the main routes in to/out of Hasbury estate. I'll never understand why the 244 was diverted down part of Bassnage Rd, as taking the former 19/ 900/ 902/ 919 routes serving those roads it covers a far greater area & more bus stops. Dunstall Rd has Diamonds 142

Is the 99 being extended to Hayley Green then?

Where did you get that idea from?

"Variation Accepted: Operating between University Station, Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Rowley Regis Station(/Hagley Road Haley Green given service number 99/98 effective from 28-Apr-2013. To amend Route and Timetable."

It Is how the registration was When originally submitted to VOSA. I highly doubt that it will do that now.

As i said the other day, really VOSA should look to tidy up there bus registrations as a lot of them don't bear much resemblance to the route being operated.

Makes it very confusing for people looking at them.

The 98/99 registrations date back years to when the 636/637 served Hayley Green & Rowley - The QE & University. You can't make any sense of existing registrations when lodged with VOSA, only if brand new. We'll have to wait until NWM issue the North B'ham review leaflet to gauge the extent of the various route changes taking place

Even so it's not difficult to walk a few minutes to a bus stop for the 244.

Its more than a few minutes walk to anywhere the 244 stops from the end of the estate I'm talking about. Bus use on the estate has declined further since the Dudley review when it lost the main services such as the 247/248 (Dudley - Stourbrige circulars) & 919 B-ham - Hasbury limited stop (Mon-fri peaks).

Regards the 46 taking over the 651 route, why could it not wait those few more weeks until the north Birmingham review?

I think that it is to do with the end of the tender that runs out at the end of April

Was it a tendered route? Thought it was ran sponsored by the Nether Hall estate
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

I believe it is shown on here from either the Wiseley Way/Rilstone Avenue re-route or the Corporation Street change.

Is the 99 going to run direct via Welsh House Farm Road then? In which case will it need E200s or could it be run using full size single deckers? Certain peak journeys could definitely do with a larger bus.

Tell you what, I would love to see a decker put on the 99!

The trees along Wheeleys Road would be a major problem for a double decker.

Think some of the hills would be too, especially if it was a Y-reg trident...

They are going to go round that estate all in one direction. To-City will remain the same, X-City will miss out Wisley Way and turn right into Rilstone, follow into Wiseley Way then turn right onto Welsh House Farm Road and normal line of route. Like I said in my previous posts, the 99 is veryyyy tight route. Sometimes dangerously.

PVR of the 127/8/9 is still 11 I make it. Seems to be longer layovers in Oldbury and Blackheath with the new timetable so it should be more reliable.
