The 140/1 obviously don't interwork though (with the exception of one peak 141 in the morning going onto the 140/241 later), so I think Mercs would be allowed on the 140 or 141

Might be a co-incidence, but 1523 was parked at the depot today not doing much. Couldn't see if the ticket machine had been removed.

If they withdrew WBs oldest Mercs then 1523 1561 and 1577 would be a good guess given their lack of refurb.

Heard a rumour that WN is to lose its Volvo B5 green thingys to BC doing a swap with BCs E400H's

This was a rumour a while ago, before the Hybrids arrived at WN, it was rumoured that they wanted BC & WN to just have one type of Hybrid at there garage, however it never happened.

Its got full connector bars so I'd be surprised if it had a retrim during that period?
