At least WN have lost one of the Tridents still with original moquette from new.
Stupid question but will the Ex WN Tridents that are trapped be getting a Crimsoned? The state of the some isn't great at all. Seeing as they have an extended life I would assume so.

Yeah, it is. 4551 is another one.
4546, 4588 and 4592 still have awful TWM interiors, as well as 4550/1.

Seems like we're getting downgraded around here! I'm sure these older YW Tridents will generally be in better nick that the slightly newer ex WN ones that have been ferrying around on routes like the 126, 501, 529 & 559 over the years!

Missed out the 79 there.

Will these recent additions from PB/WN be getting the Crimson treatment at AG/YW?

The 42**s at Acocks Green won't. As they are too old and most have had a quickly repaint within the past year. Not sure about the Tridents at Yardley Wood

Isn't 4549 the other one?

Atleast give the unrefurbed B7TL's a replacement interior in the form of the original interior, like 4285 has and it looks loads better than the ones that have never been refurbed.

I've been told by YW staff that NX won't authorise crimson for these ones. I think you've hit the nail on the head though south/west Brum is getting a downgrade with these bus swaps. I definitely think the YW tridents are the most looked after overall. The same could be said of the volvo ALX, most of those have tatty interiors as Jack has touched on so they are going from lovely clean inside and out Geminis to tatty inside polished up ALX with reduced downstairs seating! Also from the sounds of it there are more unrefurbished tridents in the 45** batch than the 43**!

4546 was the third one with connection bars that had a recent repaint but the seats were left alone sadly.

So you are just guessing they are awful because of the colour.

WN have had some retimmed completely, but in original colour

Yes and they look good, 4425 had the original seats but looked immaculate, could they not use some of the seats from that one that they ripped out to put on the tatty WN ones.

The irony is from the outside it looked quite tidy! It's shocking there are still buses in service like that, 4370 and 4389 look dreadful inside so that'll make up for it at Wolves!
Can't forget 4369 there @V89MOA, a lot of the upstairs seats are threadbare!

The Wright bodied Volvos are already in it.
Don't judge me until you've walked in my size ten shoes.

Really is a shame to see them looking like that. Younger Hybrids is one thing but 16 year old seats is just skank.

You'll miss them when they're all gone, or you'll be desperately trying to find the last remaining original interior.
I remember Pershore Road branded 2870 (I think it was) still had its original interior when withdrawn from service in 2004/5. Not only were the seats still in 'castle' moquette, they still had the from new brown vinyl edgings. There was no padding at all in the seats and they looked very dirty and manky. But it was still always fun to catch it! Was like stepping into a time machine!

I do genuinely get that point on an enthusiast level, but at the same time when people are paying a decent amount of money they do expect at the very least some fabric to sit on. I personally would rather see a fresh batch of the older moquette (the same treatment 4546 has apparently had) than faded and threadbare patches of it, especially when it looks like these buses will be around for at least another 2-3 years yet! In fact I'd say that was a perfect compromise.
