Ah Northfield, now that doesn't surprise me. Wasn't too long ago I went through on the way home and there was police in attendance for something going on a 18.

Quote from: EK40 on June 26, 2025, 07:12:55 PMbrake failure + accelerator jammed probably the most terrifying combo that could happen to you while driving, especially with a double decker bus.

Many people, myself among them, initially suspected it was a medical issue with the driver.

Bus crash in Eastleigh leaves more than a dozen injured. Goes without saying, I hope they make a speedy recovery. Incidentally, the vehicle involved in former National Express 4818 (BX09 PGF).

Some news from close to home. Caerphilly based Enviro 36405 is no more, having turned into a raging inferno in service this week. I'm not sure what route it was on but I'd wager the 56 which has some high speed sections especially North of Blackwood.

There's a video on the internet of Brighton & Hove 419 (Volvo B9TL) on Fire in Brighton Centre on Friday. Looks like it started in exactly the same spot as NXC 2152

From the perspective I saw it looked like only the headlights was on fire unless it was the offside battery too. However, the fact that 2152's fire started from a similar spot and destroyed the whole bus is quite shocking.

According to local reports, 70 children were on board along with the driver and some are reportedly trapped. Five air emergency helicopters have been dispatched in addition to road vehicles.  They were returning from a day out.

Lets hope any injuries are not life threatening.
