An E200 is broken down on the Stalling Lane / A491 Wall Heath junction & is causing lengthly tail backs in the Himley direction.

Looking at the tracking it is 827 & it has been there for nearly 3 hours...

Also, 4750 is broken down in the bus stop outside the Lutely Oak, Halesowen, was a 9 heading to B'ham

was it the door interlock preventing the bus from moving?

I've come across this before, no idea what causes it, but sometimes the doors will go to close, then they will spring back open again - usually after a couple of attempts they will then stay closed and the vehicle can start moving again.

The other problem is where one door 'sticks' and won't close properly.

Either way, the interlock system prevents the vehicle from moving if the doors aren't closed.

Scania doors have a sensor in the rubber to make sure they don't trap anybody. If the two doors touch each other too hard the sensor opens the doors again

It was the issue that Stu has mentioned the 1st issue where the doors attempt to close but carried on reopening with several attempts even the driver turned the bus completely off and put it back on but it was still having none of it.

Bus crash in Eastleigh leaves more than a dozen injured. Goes without saying, I hope they make a speedy recovery. Incidentally, the vehicle involved in former National Express 4818 (BX09 PGF).

brake failure + accelerator jammed probably the most terrifying combo that could happen to you while driving, especially with a double decker bus.

Reports of a stabbing on a bus in Northfield, but no-one was injured?

Northfield bus stabbing police probe launched after lunchtime attack

QuoteA police investigation into a stabbing on board a Birmingham double decker bus was underway today.

West Midlands Police said they received reports of a knifing on a bus which was on Bristol Road South in Northfield today

A police spokesman told BirminghamLive: "We received reports of a stabbing on a bus in Northfield shortly after 1pm this afternoon (25 June).

"Officers were quickly at the scene but no-one was found injured.

"Officers remain at the scene carrying out enquiries including a review of CCTV, and speaking to people who were there when it was reported, as we work to establish exactly what happened."
An ambulance service spokeswoman added: "We were called at 1.12pm to reports of a stabbing on Bristol Road South, Northfield in Birmingham.

"One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.

"Upon arrival, no patients were found at the scene requiring treatment and we were stood down as our assistance was no longer required."

So my question is, did anything actually happen, or was it a false alarm? If it was some kind of hoax, then what a waste of time for emergency services this was.

Oh, so it later emerged there was some 'mass brawl' on the bus.
