ZF B7

#4605
I saw one of the grey 47s getting a brand new engine a few weeks ago, mostly likely 4769. So it probably has a whole new engine nevermind just a gearbox

4775 in service today on the 80

6972 now debranded

6974 had a smash this afternoon at Smethwick

any idea if the soho road 4900s will be debranded before wolverhampton or when they are being painted? surely would be better to leave it until refurb

Just seen a EV parked up at WB garage. Any idea what it's doing at this garage?

It's been there for a few days. Not tracked since 17/04. I wondered what it was doing at WB

Probably too soon for an MOT, delivered August 2024, so I can only assume it is at WB having some mechanical work done.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

E277 was also at WB having an MoT.

You don't wait until they are a year old to MoT buses or you have to present you whole fleet at the same time, any new batch of buses start going for MoTs, normally after the first month to spread them out over the whole year

Sorry if this is a stupid question but now that 4679 has been withdrawn could we potentially see a new West Brom livery appear or has it actually stopped now as I know it was said it was being stopped then 6148 was painted as a replacement for 4651 when that goes.

There will be no more heritage liveries, too expensive

I dont think its outight "too expensive" theres likely some other meaning to not having a replacement Wolvo or WBC bus unlike how there was 2 WMPTE buses and 2 Bham City Transport? Liveried buses

Painting buses in more than one colour is more expensive and takes longer to go through the paint shop that's why there won't be any more

You say that, but then as a (really stupid but valid) counter-argument.
Why are they repainting any of the fleet from branded liveried buses into price branding that still has a cost attached?

price branding is a vinyl which can be peeled off

It still costs time to apply and remove the vinyls and to pay for the vinyls themselves vinyls arnt free and neither is the work that goes into it
