Yes, 4605 suffered an engine failure 4604 suffered a gearbox failure, so one good bus was made from the 2

Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on February 27, 2025, 10:10:39 PMI did wonder why On the E200's and Omnilink's the CCTV Montiors aren't showing anything anymore, most of the DD's still do.

Looking at photos after the fire of 1842, The Engine, Gearbox, Front Destination Board, Front Headlights and Panels, Back Brake Lights, Wheels, Suspension and Brakes should all be salvageable, Not sure about anything in the Cab due to the Smoke or Windscreen. Might be enough parts to get another Omnilink back on the road
Why would anybody wanna go near it at depot though when there is other scanias parked up that won't be covered in crap, wont smell and are probably in far better condition.

Depends on how desparate they are?

Depends if WA need the parts to get a bus on the road, I'm sure the Engineers or whoever will go near it or has to go near it will have the right protective equipment, from the damage I have seen, the Engine looks like it could be reused, unless the fire damaged it when it spread to the back, same for the Gearbox, Drive Axles, Wheels, Brakes, Suspension, Rear Lights, Destination Board, Headlights, Tyres and maybe the Battery. I'm sure those parts could be cleaned up and polished to be reused. Maybe however as the Scania's are starting to be withdrawn they may not bother.

Not to be snotty in any way, but I think you mean 4606, only purely because that gearbox seemed really faulty and slippy. But now it is much smoother and has the audible ZF that 4605 had. Plus 4606 had been off for months before coming back more recently.

Ah yeah makes sense really they are like 20 year old buses rather than withdrawing 2 vehicles better to use one as a "donor". Assuming gearboxes are a simpler job to do and fit than an engine then.

Tony

Another withdrawal to report is 4626 due to sever corrosion along with various other faults. The good engine has been recovered at put in 4612 which is solid but had a very poorly power unit!

Tony

1913 died with engine failure

4615 BX54 XSC appears to have been withdrawn

Tony

4492 is now withdrawn, needs a replacement engine which it won't get.

Tony

Not actually withdrawn yet, but likely next bus to go will be 1909.
