Of a night, I can't really see the difference between the Crimson and the Platinum/Red Striped buses. I can really only tell from a much closer distance as to what colour it is. Typically, the first thing I see is the front Hanover display as they're usually pretty bright. Then you've also got the interior lights through the windows. That's just my view on the matter.

I can't see a grey bus in the dark fpmsl
Sat at great Charles street tonight at the lights on my 9
What went past me in the dark at 1750 a leccy bus well you could see the stainless steel wheels four orange side markers
Cctv mirror monitors in the cab
Downstairs lights upstairs lights
It was lit up like a bloody Christmas tree
Can't see them what are you lot on
Can you see dark coloured cars that are smaller than a bus with less lighting if not be careful you might get run over
It's anyone's guess how many people are going to run into the back of those new Harrogate buses for the 36 on show at the NEC which are allover black, full stealth mode, but then again the current fleet also have full black back ends and no-one is saying they cannot see those.

That's not what I said, I said "harder to see".

I was stood on Stratford Road last night, and I'm looking up towards Camp Hill Island. I can see something shadowy coming down the road, there's some blurry orange light from the front destination, but its only as it gets near me that I realise it is the bus I want to catch as my eyes are dazzled by the headlights from other cars. It was 4775 on the 2.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Given the way a lot of car drivers drive, especially around Brum, I think not seeing the colour is the least important factor about getting ran over.

When it comes to buses it's not difficult to see a bus on the road, especially anything 48xx or newer as they seem to have brighter saloon lighting than 47xx and as far as the single decker go they're the brightest I see but that could be a perspective thing.
