I don't understand those comments about the back & rear.

But no one is saying bare basics cost cutting about them
Belfast, where the buses have never been privatised are also painted allover one colour, so it's not just about private companies cost saving

I wonder if he means the lower saloon where there is no back window ?

I'm sure you seen the Coventry ones compared to the Birmingham ones, I'm sure the grey lines that connect the lightning bolts towards the rear are just left there, it's very easy to tell

Huge difference, I'm not sure if it's NX, or it's the vinyl company who's missing these parts out

Upper saloon, there the top window is, there is a powered by zenobe sticker which on the Coventry elevtrics is at the top of the rear dest, and the curved lightning connecting lights at the bottom

Does it really matter ?

It doesn't, but it does show a lacklustre in effort to make buses visually appealing to people

Always nice to make a bus look good to someone has just missed it pulling away.

Still not sure what your point is other than stickers are in different positions and you don't like it

I'm not saying I don't like it? I'm just mentioning this as it's missing that's literally it?

I saw 6803 in Dugley earlier it perfectly acceptable, yes you can see the ghosting effect from previous branding , I'm sure advert frames will cover majority of it.
6816 6817 at WB had the complete generic branding make over which is better .

Buses aren't meant to be "visually appealing" they're meant to take you from Place A to B

Speaking purely from a passenger perspective, I really honestly don't care.

What matters to me is whether a bus turns up when it should, and I can get on it to where I need to go to.

While it would be nice if all buses could be nicely presented and in a uniform livery, what is more important is a bus in service and picking up paying passengers. And if anything, it is the interior presentation of the bus that travelling passengers notice more, rather than the outside.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Or the livery evolving to minimise expensive detail, when the overall look is aesthetically pleasing - the electrics are a massive investment and upgrade, yet the only thing that happens is nit picking over small livery details.

Tricky Dicky moans complains about peanuts in his Snickers bars! He won't be happy until he's decimated the West Midlands commercial bus sector.
