Quote from: winston on March 03, 2023, 01:14:42 PMNX Liveried Levente III that hit the central bridge pillar Junction 2, M6 is currently parked up in the corner of Pensnett depot yard, presumably awaiting scrapping, as there's not much left of the front end. Unable to ID, but presume it is an NXWM one:

Has this & 4537 been withdrawn due to being inspected & needing fair bit work on them so easier to withdrawal which transfers replace them from cov ?

No, they have been withdrawn because their engtines have failed

Is that not unusual to Withdraw a bus just because the engine has failed, cant they fit one from another vehicle that has come to the end but the P.U. is reusable ? i always thought if an engine failed, it was simply swapped out for another one, back in the day The Ford A used to have a note on the speedo and the map to say new engine fitted but, that was PTE days
3000 F300 XOF

like 3000 I do not exist anymore........ worth nothing as scrap either
i might also masquerade as a Community Radio DJ from time 2 time

They would swap the engine normally if the bus had a reasonable service life left. But no point in replacing engines, when these batches are currently being withdrawn & scrapped.

There's a pic on Facebook of 4501 at AG saying it is withdrawn - so I'd imagine it is.

4453 has been withdrawn due to needing an expensive repair, front to back chassis loom. (This is the group of wires which control the accelerator, so at the moment it can only be moved at slow speed around the garage)
