Quote from: ellspurs on June 17, 2025, 03:57:38 PMI guess that they got missed when the crew(/person) went around to change them, so they won't get looked at until the system triggers a new flag to put up.

I'm guessing it is similar when a pole gets swapped/replaced and they put up a temporary flag on it. The electric totem that they swapped to a standard flag by me still has the "temporary stop" sign on it.

On a different note, I went up Hortonwood 30 in Telford today, they had those yellow temporary "TEMPORARY BUS STOP" signs along it with (now worn out) Travel Telford logos. I think they've only had services going up there for at least a year now...

Some off them signs are missing also, luckily most passengers know where the bus stop is now

Quote from: B7RLE on June 04, 2025, 10:34:51 PMIf I'm reading correctly, the Telford 100 has been registered to be cancelled from the 21st July? (I think I'm understanding the registration right but correct me if I'm wrong)
Correct, arriva will be running the 100/102/103 from then

Quote from: satters on May 30, 2025, 07:11:20 PMI really like the Brighter Diamond livery, the blue really is pleasing, much moreso than any of the NX offerings IMO
Agree, it is a nice livery, especially compared to their old dark blue livery

New Service 936 Birmingham - Walsall replacing 934 serving Frampton way in Pheasey not serving Dafodill road covered by 77.

Service 937 rerouted to Serve Rough road and George Frederick Road.

Service 997 not serving Frampton Way running same route as To Birmingham services via Queslett Road.

New Service 998 replacing 997E Journeys to Pheasey church extended to Streetly Hardwick Arms via Queslett Road then current 935 route via Hundred acre.

All Services 936 937 997 998 will serve Perry Barr interchange and Braggs Road to City.

Service 934 935 937A Withdrawn.

Service 77 77A rerouted to Serve Dafodill Road then operate 935 route to Kingstanding Circle then rough road to Banners Gate road normal line of Route. No longer serving Blackwood Road, Chester Road and George Frederick Road.

Service 78 78A rerouted to Serve Blackwood Road no longer serving Lowlands Avenue. All Journey terminate at Queslett.
Having 936/937/997 and 998 serve braggs Rd will take some much needed pressure of the 33

Quote from: Mike K on May 08, 2025, 05:50:13 PMCan an advertiser request a specific vehicle type or vehicle to which the advert is applied? I genuinely don't know the answer to this.

I'd be surprised if HSBC had any say in the buses its Premier Account branding was applied to. They look anything but premier.
Not sure if this applies to NX but I believe they wouldn't request so much a specific vehicle but they can request a certain area which they might want their advert displayed which I suppose for smaller operators or operators with route branding or buses that stick to certain routes would dictate what buses get the adverts.

Quote from: Zeddan on May 04, 2025, 12:27:37 PMMight be an extremely controversial take, but I actually think it would be beneficial to scrap timetables altogether. Instead, retain journey starting times for hidden running boards and then just let the buses do the routes without time pressure. At as many stops as possible, have live maps showing where the buses are and an ETA to the stop, alongside those graphics for a rough journey time to various key stops. Idk if it would be possible legally, but promotion of sites like bustimes would also do well. I know so many people that get fed up when a bus hasn't turned up in 5 minutes but I can see clearly on the map it's been stuck in traffic, *cough* Clay Lane. This will probably not happen of course I just think franchising could bring about more possibilities for reducing the constant timetable reliability complaints because I'm certain 90% of those that do complain all the time, even to driver's faces, don't ever have to experience the awful West Midlands traffic themselves. 😅
On high frequency routes in the daytime this could work, but for example take the 96 that only runs every 30 mins on the day, you would still need a timetable displayed as no one will want to wait 30mins due to not knowing when the bus is due.

Quote from: Stu on April 16, 2025, 07:49:53 PMThey don't though, if you actually look at your bank statements.

I shop at plenty of local stores using my debit card, and I often find that the money doesn't actually leave my account until the following day. At the point of purchase, the card processor is looking for 'authorisation' for that transaction, based on the available funds in the account being used to make the payment at that time.

With NX it's slightly different, the system seeks 'authorisation' but the transaction doesn't get completed straight away, due to the 'capping' structure.

If someone's finances are that bad and they can't be sure they'll have at least £4.80 in their bank account at the end of the day, then perhaps they should stick to using cash to pay for their bus fares. Or perhaps consider getting a Swift Pay-As-You-Go or Swift Go card that they can load credit onto.
If someone is purchasing an N bus day ticket then would it not be worth them purchasing it by card and getting a paper copy (I.e ask the driver for a day ticket before holding your card over the reader). Am I correct in thinking that this would transfer funds to your pending same as purchasing a product in tesco for example (personally don't need to buy an N bus as I have my staff pass but curious).

Quote from: GoldenSquid on April 01, 2025, 02:24:54 PMAlot of the innit machines are starting to fail now, there's a few buses at BC where they don't accept contactless, some don't except swift, and some don't except m-tickets.
There's a few that just don't work at all.
It's bad innit 😉😉

Quote from: Steve3229vp on March 31, 2025, 06:01:32 PMFrequency reductions from 27th April 2025:

65 Birmingham to Perry Common
67 Birmingham to Castle Vale

Reduced to every 15 minutes, service 67 is revised in Castle Vale and will terminate at Reed Square.
Am I correct in thinking this will be the old route the 67 took (before it got extended to cover for the loss of the 38)

Quote from: Mega Kickdown on March 30, 2025, 10:05:48 PMyea im talking about the struggling bus stage 1 and 2 limp basically where a max of 35% power reduction

what tony n winston n stu was on about is stage 3 limp where the bus cant pass 20mph which is indeed a hazard to the road

20mph is optimistic in limp mode, last bus I nursed back to the garage in limp mode managed 11mph at most.

Quote from: Bob on March 25, 2025, 07:39:07 PMThe 3 ended up a 4 bus working today 2x solos, first one broke down, then 144 and a sb180. I thought it was a euro 6 tender but they regularly dont stick to it lol
It's meant to be euro 6 as the bus off the 3 is used on the 5 to codsall, also i believe bus 144 is euro 6

Is there likely to be any change to the chaseriser 5 service or will that continue as it I'd (I believe that is already subsidised by Staffordshire county Council)

The 103 wellington to Newport is a lovely scenic route, very rural and a lot of country lanes

Quote from: Westy on February 17, 2025, 10:36:10 AMI guess moving the 28 & 28a & extending those to start from West Brom is a non starter?

The length for one, & ISTR the 28's have or have had serious reliability issues in the past, I believe.
I haven't used the 28 for a few years now but I know the route it takes down the Chester road can get congested

Quote from: Steve3229vp on February 15, 2025, 05:06:33 PMThis is a worsening problem !
On matchdays the 7 is re-routed between Witton Island and College Road via Aston Lane, Wellhead Lane and Aldridge Road, sometimes the diversion starts at Six Ways Aston going via Birchfield Road and Perry Barr.
Even though this is unavoidable and in most cases not the fault of NX, it does cause problems for passengers who are not going to/from Villa Park, worse still is that when matches are played on weeknights the 7 is on the same running boards as the 65 and 67 so if the 7 is late and in most cases it is, sometimes very late, the 65 and 67 will be late as well.
In some cases a 7 will actually go on it's normal route.

I would suggest that the diverted buses should be numbered 7A, therefore passengers will then know whether there bus is going through Witton/Brookvale/The Ridgeway or not.

The main part of this problem needs to be dealt with by the City Council (god help us!) and Villa Park to stop cars parking on both sides of Brookvale Road which is biggest problem.
This can't go on !
Nice to hear there diverting the 7 these days, when I drove it once upon a time it was normal line of route
