Yes, I presume most of the drivers who work the services are based from there too. So quite a long way.

Quote from: Mike K on July 02, 2025, 07:00:37 PMSo from 20th July is it just the 19, 76 and the 41 serving the QE Hospital main entrance? For one of the largest hospitals in the UK that's an absolute joke.

If there's one place that needs public transport to its door it's a major hospital.

Issues with cars and taxis blocking bus access have been largely alleviated with the outside lane being a bus lane so it's a surprise to see services being diverted away.
So from 20th July, Weoley Castle, Northfield  and Hawkesley no longer has a link to the front entrance of the Hospital.... .

In the last service changes it was Bearwood, West Bromwich Etc (please if missed any feel free to add)

I know people will say 'It's only a short walk' but as I said previously in this thread, not everyone can manage it, If the interchange can't cope with the amount of buses then it's design isn't fit for purpose in my opinion. It doesn't help the countless times I've gone through it taxis and people waiting to pick people up block the route for the buses to get in.

Very disappointing that the QE interchange is losing yet another route in the 55.... Feel for anyone who uses it access the main entrance of QE are now in for a long walk.

Quote from: Stu on June 27, 2025, 08:52:29 AMOh, so it later emerged there was some 'mass brawl' on the bus.

Mass brawl on Birmingham bus sees 'person stabbed' as passengers 'fight with weapons'

Ah Northfield, now that doesn't surprise me. Wasn't too long ago I went through on the way home and there was police in attendance for something going on a 18.

Hi all, quick question. I'm still yet to try the ADL electric on 110s however I know it was due to be on a test for a month?
I'm just wondering when it's last day is due and whether I should hurry up on getting a go on it?

Thanks

The changes have made it onto the TFWM website.....

https://www.tfwm.org.uk/plan-your-journey/ways-to-travel/buses-in-the-west-midlands/upcoming-bus-service-changes/

rom Sunday 20th July, the following services will operate revised routes and/or timetables to improve reliability and better match passenger demand:
Service 46/46A – QE Hospital to Kings Heath/Hawkesley via Northfield: These services will be withdrawn and replaced by alternative services:
  • 48 West Bromwich to Hawkesley via QE Hospital & Northfield – this service will be extended to Hawkesley every 20 minutes, following the route of the current 46 between Northfield and Hawkesley.
  • X20 Bromsgrove – Birmingham via QE Hospital every 30 minutes
  • 27 Rubery, Great Park – Solihull via Northfield, Brandwood End, Kings Heath & Yardley Wood, every 30 minutes, with buses continuing beyond Yardley Wood to Solihull every 60 minutes.

Quote from: keyy927 on June 18, 2025, 08:01:27 PMthere is also a case for it being slightly due to delayed X21/X22, but the service is still quite busy between longbridge and the university anyways, as people are shifting from the 46/A to the X20
I was on board this morning from Rednal into University, It was fairly empty however this one of 'short journeys' so it may of had something to do with it, Haven't seen what numbers are on from the services which start from Bromsgrove.

When does the 169 roughly change? I'm still yet to do the route so would be nice to get it whilst it still in stagecoach operations.

It's been said on other sections of this forum that NX will be taken over the 169 section by extending the 27 service into Solihull (hence the transfer of the first E200 to Yardley Wood garage) at some point in the near future. Just wondering, is there any news on the other tender services in Birmingham such as 41, 46/46A and A9 services or is it too early to say whether they will be changing?

Quote from: Mayfield on June 07, 2025, 04:31:09 PMNot entered service yet, probably no one realised it needs a charger to make it work.
If your going off bustimes for this information that it hasn't entered service, then its wrong. It's been out tracking as the spare ticket machine.

I know people will disagree with me on the 48, but it has a few minutes standing at UNI stops, surely they could move the timing point and serve the interchange? How many extra minutes will it add?

I know people will just say "it's a 2 minute walk" but elderly or people with disabilities may struggle with that. That's why having the bus serve the interchange makes life easier!

Quote from: cardew on June 02, 2025, 11:41:41 AMMight be worth complaining to whichever local councillor is due to attend next weeks Transport Delivery meeting (they might not be aware of the issue) especially as it is such a major interchange. It may lead to them pulling their fingers out on stop changes for a change.

I'll take a look, if I go back home via the QE (which I'm trying to avoid as these changes have made going that way longer)  I'll take some photos so they could share them at the meeting.

Quote from: Jack on June 01, 2025, 08:47:28 PMPersonally I think taking the 48 away from the QE is disgusting, with the high amount of elderly users who use the 48 to get to and from the QE for appointments. I understand with the X2** services being 'fast and frequent', but the 48 being moved away shocked me. Another one of the changes I can't see going down well at all.
I've just been at the QE. the amount of people still expecting the 48 to show at the main entrance is disgsuting.

No information about the changes anywhere on the bus stops. One of the posters still dates from 2023. Definitely needs to be a improvement by WMCA and NX on how information is shared to passengers.

Good Afternoon, I was onboard 32312 this afternoon on the 202, It's nice to see that audio and visual next stop announcements are being rolled out on the service. However I sat right at the back of the bus I couldn't barley hear anything over the rattles and vibrations of the vehicle and as I was getting off and was near the front I could just make out what was being said. The system is far too quiet.

Maybe something for a engineer to take a look at?
