@Sayeed Ta for that. Are there single deckers on there as well (the decker is on the same board each day), or are they all deckers do you know

From my own observations the X64 is still primarily single deck although doubles on there are no longer the rarity they once were.

Just on loan I take it? Sounds like the Perry Barr blinds are in use, as the lower case X is how the X51 is displayed on our buses (unless Walsall's new super X has it this way as well)

Yes, 4933 was on loan today. Walsall buses don't have lower case 'x'. They show 'X51'. Well, the 997 Super X buses haven't been on X51 yet. :)

The unusual bit is being outside Morrisons as the 9 doesn't stop there, it goes under the underpass. It had presumably operated a 9E to Five Ways and turned on the roundabout

Apparantly there were a few E400H's parked in the garage earlier so may have something to do with it?

One or two of the last departures from City on the 22/23 and 24 do swap, so for example a 24 comes in and leaves as a 23A and a 22 in leaves as a 24 but I don't know if this involves the 29A (which interworks with the 24) or if it also happens on a Sunday.

If not then it is mind bogglingly noteworthy.

Unless a hybrid was out on the 24 today, with the allocator either forgetting or not being concerned about the interworking with the 29A?

@Sh4318, the 24/29/29a all interwork at night so the 24 does switch to B7RLE but the 22/23 are now hybrid operated at night again since the last lot of service changes.

On looking at the Harborne timetables it looks like there is all sorts of interworking on last few journeys of the night from Colmore Row. I might be wrong but I think the final 29A at 23.35 on a Sunday is the 22/23 board that arrives into Colmore Row at 23.32. If so this working would be normal. Good call though, certainly noteworthy.

With WB losing 4 single deck (564, 569, 1702 & 3602) and one double deck (4115) so far without replacement and two buses away for refurb they will be working to the limit with fewer spares. They have managed to get a full service out yesterday and today without borrowing from other garages, so a few odd workings are likely. It is possible their first new buses may arrive Friday.

4572 on evening 11/32/33's. Currently following it down Stafford Rd.

And 508 is still on the 59 as of 20:20. I wonder whether this will make it till the end of service? Very rare to have a B6 on 59's at this time (Unusual to get them full stop). 9 times out of ten the driver usually gets it swapped for a Trident but not this evening....

Well it isn't one of the regular evening 59 team (Or the daytime 59 rota) so he probably wouldn't get the bus swapped. Its usually the regular evening 59 drivers that get Spectra's/B6's/Mercs swapped if they get allocated to late nights.

I had the pleasure of 320 on the 28 this afternoon. Very quick off the mark, but after it got into 3rd gear, it was very sluggish. Other than that, a very nice bus. I think we are a bit short of OmniLinks this week, as 320 has been on the 28 3 times this week (was on the 654 yesterday).

I would like to see that as well, if it is going by this week, with 320 on there 3 times, then there might be a chance to see a Enviro200 on there. If West Brom are still set to start to receive theirs tomorrow, then we might get our 4 within the next week or two.

To be honest, loadings on 320 was not bad, the most I had was a full sitting load (It may have been more if I was on time, but due to an accident on route, and the diversion been gridlocked, I was running with an OmniLink for my last trip back from Heartlands)

EDIT - 320 seems to only work one of the afternoon boards on the 28. It was on 28/16 today

Ommilinks operate alongside B10's and B6's on the 34/8/9. I'd imagine the Omnilinks being the newer (More fuel efficient I'd imagine) would stay out on the late night boards

There are two boards that are regularly dd operated.

Today (Friday)

2065 on WN59. Currently onboard as i type

And 2029 just passed me going the other way. Its allocated to late night board 59/09

2017 is also on the 59! Are WN short of double deckers? There have been a fair few B7's on the 126 this week and now 3 B7's on the 59 today.

4130 is on WA69. Seen going down Lichfield Rd in Wednesfield about 10 mins ago

Here is a picture of 2065 on 59 in wednsfield heading towards Ashmore park

The 997/E work on there own boards, in fact, other than the first/last journeys even the 997 & 997E are separate. There are 5 boards, however not all are in service at the time, as buses drive back and park at the garage for driver reliefs/breaks.

The 38 does seem to get anything, usually one OmniLink and one Decker (usually a 63 Enviro400). I have seen a Gemini and a 61 Enviro400 on there as well , I would say an OmniCity is unusual on there though

Ahh Fair enough, cheers John. I don't know why but since it became the 38 I assumed it was solid 63 plate enviros :/ 4853 and 4697 were both on there yesterday anyway.

There was also an Omnicity on the Sutton Lines at the evening peak.

5407 back in Birmingham on the way to Wolves on the 126.

Also, not particularly rare, but (really) not appearing recently:
4907 (Sophie) on the 24 and another* E400.

In addition to this, an ex-WN unbranded B5 was on the 24 too.

*EDIT: As mentioned in the BC Thread, it appears to me that 4905 (Tiah Joy) is the other E400 on the 24.

I did initially see it pass my school on Lichfield Rd but it rushed past so just assumed it was on WN59 but then saw it again on Essington Rd and realised the bus i saw was 582.

I presume you were responding to that just after i edited my post so looking at the quotes it looked like you were saying 582 wasn't on the 69

5409 on WN255! Currently parked up at Wolverhampton Bus Station about to work the 16:50 departure from Wolverhampton

Its on board 255/01 but its a change bus as 5409 was seen going down B'ham New Rd this afternoon driven by an engineer

And 5401 is on WN25A/C! This is madness! ;) Seen go down Penn Rd into W'ton at 17:00 whilst aboard 5409 on the 255 as mentioned above

So it was on there! Spent ages looking for it with no look. Wanted to see if it was on the usual trident board but a B7 turned up.

I was told by a driver on the 62 that a 'hybrid' was on the 3. Was going to ask if anybody had seen it so thanks for that post :) Another rare working involving an E400H over the past few days. The 3 has seen two E400H's within days of each other.

No wonder there were single deckers on double decker routes such as the 59,255 and 529 with a E400H on the 3 and several Tridents on the 2 and 4!

4905 was seen on Priory Queensway with 29A on the destination display this afternoon. Maybe about to start a peak time journey? I can't remember the last time I saw a double decker on the 29/A

Yes 4905 did the 16:24 29A from Colmore Row covering a late running journey for 2130 which was late arriving in Birmingham. It returned empty so just did the one journey

And two enviro 400H on the 59

There are 4 E400H's on WN59 today (5404/5/8/9) however this is nothing out of the ordinary considering the spare hybrids off the 1 appear on the 59. There have been less hybrids on 59's though over the past few weeks due to them appearing on other routes.

As the replacement for the 551*'s, E400H's will appear on the 59 like the B5's did

This afternoon:
4020 passed me moments ago in Wall Heath on the 255 about 15:07 going towards MH

1670 is on WN79. Departed Wolverhampton Bus Station at 15:45

And now 5404 is on the 126 (Was on the 59) Its about to depart Wolverhampton Bus Station at 16:01

And 2014 has been placed on WN59 (Late night 59/09 board) as a replacement for 5404 which is now on the 126

The reverse video was introduced on the 255E by Simon Mathieson just after it was renumbered from 254, after complaints from the Wall Heath brigade at a Dudley TUF meeting.  They wanted the 254 number reinstated and this was a compromise to make it clear that the bus is a short working.

It's a good idea, and I am surprised that it has not been extended to other regular "E" services.

In addition, 1662 was on the 255 today.  It replaced 4584 which was taken out of service at Merry Hill this morning with a damaged nearside panel, having apparently come into contact with something near Swindon.

What is the matter with anybody who lives in Wallheath, they can't see destinations on buses properly, they need a bus service direct to the hospital just in case in the next 50 years, someone may need to go to there.

I am glad for once that NE have gone by there word, they said use the 205 or loose it, they didn't use it so now, apart from a handful of journeys, they have lost it.

Why do they do that, Use the inverse for the 255E that is?

Presumably to identify the short working, if they want to do that, don't know why its not done for all short workings!

Out of curiosity,  how many passenger's per bus makes the journey worthwhile operating?

That's a very good question.

I have caught the 205 from Wallheath church quite a few times and each time, if there was 2 passengers on board then it was a good day. I would presume that all operators accept that the fact that certain journeys will be quiet, it is just when most journeys are quiet that the service becomes unviable

Every other Friday I quite often catch the 8.55pm Diamond 205 towards Wallheath down to K'ford, if there is more than just me on board it is unusual.

I was on the trip before from Gornal and got off at Russell's Hall. This trip is booked to run trips on the 9 so is booked as an E400 so its normal I'm afraid.

2081 is also on PE246. Seen on Brettell Lane about 3 mins ago going towards Dudley

@trident4370, maybe 4808 is on tunnel standby filling in on routes with delays. Iirc last year a WN trident made it onto the 51. Will try and find the post as I'm sure it was posted

Lynx1103 you beat me to the three B10L noteworthys in Walsall, I took a pic of 1434 on the 7 at around 1530 maybe abit before or after, not sure if you were driving that trip :)

1858 (4 branded) - WA302

2064 - late night WN1 (replaced 5412 on Sedgeley high Street at 2215) - see, my dislike of hyberheaps is justifiable when it comes to being stuck in Wolves city centre for half an hour on a saturday night

1760 1775 1779 - WA4/4H/4M - 1760 definately stayed out late as that was parked in Merry Hill at 2010

You may find that B7RLE's appear on the 141 quite often due to interworking with the 140/241. From my observation (On the 140/241 end) there still seems to be a couple of B7RLE's operating alongside the E400's and Tridents.

Todays Noteworthy Workings:
4584 on WN1. Seen going towards Tettenhall Wood on Pipers Row about 09:50
1683 on WN529. Pulled into W'ton Bus Station at 10:23 and I'm about to board it to Willenhall

4549 also on WN1. Seen on Pipers Row going towards Tettenhall Wood about 12:47

4002 also on WN1. Seen departing Dudley Bus Station at 13:43

1641 and 1627 on PEX96. Both seen at Dudley about 13:50 going towards Wollaston Farm
4824 on PEX96 also.Seen in Dudley at 13:52 going towards Wrens Nest.

4680 on WA7. Seen pulling into Walsall Bus Station at 12:32

319 on PB66. To me this looks very rare. Am i right?  Seen at 13:42 at Old Square.

Yes you are right Nath :) Solos are very rare on the 66 :)

Exceedingly rare on the 66. At least they're giving the Solos a good send off with them now being on the 952 and the 66 in the last week.

We are getting good use of our Solos before they go it seems, with 319 on the 66, also
287 is on the 7
286 is on the 28 (peak extra or change bus)

4489 on the 33

825 on PE140. Seen at Bearwood at 15:22 at Bearwood going towards Birmingham.

Also Saw 2080 on PE going the other way.

222 branded 825 replaced 4811. It will have done at least a 140, 141 & 241 by the end of the day.
2080 was on the 9 all day.

Ah that explains what i saw as in Bus Breakdown thread, i saw 4811 broken down in Quinton on my way into town and when i came back the E200 was there just taking up duty and presumably 4811 had just left for garage.

A TWM liveried Trident was on the 9 today,!
