There is a 900 branded Enviro on the 59 leaving Birmingham Monday to Friday at 1408, when it turns up. Does anyone know where it goes after Kingshurst? It does not come back on the 59.

If I've got my facts right, it has about 50minutes to run to the Airport. (There is another bus which runs from City to Kingshurst special during the day somewhere as well.)
I think the cranes park has the most dead mileage.

Well, considering there is supposed to be one B7RLE on the 59, it can be noteworthy but not necessarily Unusual. A E200 is unusual, or a Hybrid is rare...
Well i suppose not everyone (I wasn't) is aware that one board on the 59 is B7RLE so usually seeing tridents some people would think a B7RLE would be unusual.

The Walsall ones are good spots, however, there is a Trident on the 22/23 most days, one Trident on an x64 trip every school day, and Omnicitys/ALX400s do often appear on the 67
I'd say unusual to see a trident because from my observation, E400 is used in the morning journeys
Coinciding with the changes to the Harborne and Weoley Castle rotas there has been a Trident on an all day board on the 22/23 for a week or so now. There has also been an increase in the number of Hybrids used on the 24, with typically around 4 a day at the moment.

Except it is very rare to get any double decker on WN 3 (Well usually!) Well although the 3 does get busy at times i do think they should keep the dd's to the dd routes like the 59 (Which they keep placing sd's on!)
They also need to stop putting Tridents on the 11 and 27A as they don't need them.
Maybe they can be allocated to the 2/3/4 to cover journeys that get busy?

If anyone was listening to the radio this morning you will have heard why. Its technology was being used properly for the first time.
Now all the features have been broadcast on the radio I am happy to list them here.
The Internal CCTV can be streamed live back to a laptop in a police car following it or from the control room in Centro house. (other buses can do this but a seperate transmitter needs to be fitted to the bus beforehand so don't think it is only 4368 that you can be watched on I have seen it done on a WB 42xx on the 74, just not should good quality)
The front camera has ANPR number plate recognition so if the vehicle is involved in a hit & run the bus itself identifies the car. It could also be used for bus lane violations.
The windows have little microphones fitted so they self detect if they are etched and focus the cameras on that window. They can also send a message direct to police.
The LED lighting has also made the inside of the bus 30% brighter so the cameras produce much better images
In reply to Matt's comment about Trident spots on WN3. 4564 was on a different board on monday to 4538 yesterday. However today, 4566 is on the monday board so this could be being done to add capacity at school time at the Castlecroft end

Maybe these tridents are coming off the 27A which doesn't need tridents. I do believe certain boards on the 2/3/4 do need double deckers.
The 2 maybe, the 3 definately, the 4 not as much so. I say the 11 because thats had more B7RLe's this week so i assumed the Trident would just be swapped.

Yes, as B10Ls should no longer be working on it! You used to get a few B10Ls, both Wright and Alexander bodied appearing on the 6 before the LEZ rules came into force

Well just thinking about it why don't they just allocate thevtridents off the 27A and 11 (Both could easily cope with single deckers) to the 59 and 126.

It's to do with the way the buses are parked in the yard, the first 27A and 11 buses will leave the garage well before all of the 59/126 buses are out, so if a suitable single decker can't easily be got to for the 27A or 11 then they'll just take a Trident out, and vice versa for the 59/126

But then contrary to what has been said the 27A I was on departing Dudley at 4 definetly needed its Trident, and 2002 which I saw 10 minutes earlier by Tesco had maximum 10 people on board so seemed to be managing fine, so it really is just chance whether a Decker is needed on some routes around that sort of time

I agree, the last B6 I rode on the 27 got jam packed and the 27A can get busier, it is only parts of the 27/27A that get busy but I do think decker boards are needed on there, whereas the odd single decker on the 59/126 won't do any harm
Mercs or B7RLE's would be fine for the 27, the occassional decker would be ok as well but full contigents like we've seen the past few months aren't that neccessary

Even on Sundays. Which makes me think, what route do the B7RLEs come off on Sunday evenings to go onto the 22-24? Or do they come from the garage?
What time does the changeover happen? I don't venture out much in the evenings these days but last Thursday when I did, I only saw a B5LH and an E400H. That was around 19.30, they were both heading out of city.
I saw B7RLEs on the 22-24 after 9 last Wednesday and Sunday. So more than likely between 8 & 9
On the 22/23 tonight between 19.30 and 19.45 I've seen 2133, 5506, another B7RLE and another B5LH so looks to be a mix.

All the details are in the WN garage thread Stu but i believe while they were repairing 1676 they fount something wrong with the chassis so withdrew it.
Not the facts as I have been told

Sh4166, there's a board allocated a B7 if I'm not corrected (:.
2015 - WN 1 ?
An Enviro400H and an 0405N on the 59 this evening.
Bit fed up because I saw the Enviro as I was travelling down Broad Street and it was just turning towards the bus stationentrance, so I think it was the bus directly behind.

4193 and 4201(?) were both on 140s earlier unless they were doing the peaks (don't know if they interwork or not) both were running about 2/3 mins in front of a B7 and went past each other at Bearwood. Couldn't say the exact time but probably between 6 and 6:15.
Last night, (15th November), I saw an E400H on (WN) 79 arriving in the bus station at 19:30. Could not see the fleet number, I'm afraid. I was on the other side waiting for the 82.

That's what he was saying, this is one of the first times the B6 on the Sunday 62 has been one of the recent ex Pensnett B6s (508, 554, 555, & 581/582 when they were at WN)
Its usually the Ex BC ones (63* usually) that operate the sunday 62.
Also saw 2025 on the 1 (As reported by Andrew)

No, sorry, you may have taken it the wrong way. Its ghastly as I am, and was, NX renumbering and South Brum changes. Therefore, the 62 should still be to Rednal. So it shouldn't read Wolvo ;)
and as you say;
YW Omnilink (unidentifiable) - 49 this evening. Odd change for a Sunday!
Sorry i might have taken that wrong then ;)

Not seen 5411 for ages, but could just be chance.
Think i saw 5411 on Saturday. I was going to ask about 5417 as it was sounding bad but i remember it took up duties on the 59 on Friday
There must be a Hybrid out of use I would have thought, will look out tomorrow as the 1 has seen a different vehicle type all day for almost a week now with a couple of Spectra's early last week, Tridents, B7's and now a Merc, just waiting for a B6 to be sent to rescue a Hybrid (probably an Enviro)

It will be interesting to see what replaces the Solos at PB, as I would have thought they were very close to being withdrawn now, being the last few Solos in the fleet. Would it be financially viable to buy new E200's for a service that I imagine doesn't bring in much revenue, or will they just use Omnilink's do we think?

No problem! The other thing I noticed about 4045 was that the rear LED display appeared to be faulty, it was blank for a short period, then showed 37 for a few seconds, before it went blank again.
The only other one of note I saw this evening was YW 4725 on the 6, heading towards city.

Cheers Mike. Did you manage to snap a look at the Running Card Number? I wonder if it left garage on the PM peak or all day board.
Unfortunately not LS, it was dark and I was driving behind it. There has been a right mixed bag on Harborne corridor peak workings of late, including a lot of branded E400s but B7RLEs on the 22/23 are uncommon, other than at night.

Don't think so. Any Enviro400 on the 49 is slightly unusual, so more than likely will be reported on here if seen by any of us
Speaking of Enviro's on the 49 4799 is on there today. To my knowledge no stripey ones have so far ventured onto the 49, or the 76 for that matter either!

have seen it a couple of times in the afternoon and they were Tridents, and when it arrived in Colmore Row it was packed still. Interestingly, the bus then displays Not In Service, so presume it may do another routes peak journeys.
The new single deck volvo's tend to be regular on the 56/70 evening Sunday service from what I have seen, not sure if that has been reported.

2125 departed Colmore Row at around 12.50 on the 22, so after a round trip to Kitwell, then a 23 to Woodgate, an arrival in Bartley Green of around 15.00 would be about right. Suspect this is the same bus we're talking about.

A decker on the 205 is still very rare, great spot Andrew. When 4809 was reported on there a couple of months or so back, that was the first time I remember one being on there, I think someone else also said it was the first time.

It started with the introduction of summer timetables during the summer holidays, they then seemed to go away for a short time after normal timetables resumed, but then started coming back on a daily basis by late September.
Euro 3 B7TLs are less common on there (due to them being prioritised for the city centre routes), but do happen from time to time.

I had it for haulage ;) it was an interesting journey home. The emergency door alarm was going off. The driver (when stuck in traffic at the temporary traffic lights on Spon Lane South) went to investigate both exits, then turned off the engine and lights to restart the bus. It wouldn't restart. Got off and started to walk home when it came past 5 minutes later. Managed to flag it down get it back to the bus station.

No, it interworks with something else, hence why Enviro200s usually appear in the evening
The 42/43 do interwork in the evenings, but rather than a continuation of the daytime boards, these journeys are included on the end of 46 boards. Therefore the bus finishes it's duties on the 46 and then goes on to operate 42/43 evening journeys, hence why it is usually an Enviro.
The 42 due in to Dudley at 1848 and then scheduled to depart out at 1855 is part of the daytime board, returning back to depot upon arrival at West Brom.

I say the 126 looks smart on E400's, as do the BC22 looks better on B5's.

Apologies for the lack of fleetnumbers, it was dark and I was more interested in my phone at the time...
- Eclipse on the 935 this evening - wasn't the one that becomes the X56, or if it was it was possibly an hour late.

I saw 4249 on the 33 this evening, saw it coming down Corporation st towards me and assumed it was the one ex 94 just running to Perry Barr and back to the garage, but turned out it was a full 33 to Pheasey. So that possibly makes 3 running boards without E400s, very strange if you ask me.

Judging by how often they are reported there seems to be a Trident on the 900 or 957 every couple of days or so.
4897 (900 branded) has been on the 59 today, this could've led to an unbranded E400 which would've been on the 957 instead being on the 900, and therefore 4617 ending up on the 957

That's the board that comes out mid afternoon and stays out all night, it will do the 21:30 from Birmingham, 22:15 241 from Dudley, 23:15 from Halesowen, 23:45 140E to Blackheath.

Looks like 1657 snuffed it, as a B7 just went past on its running board
To confuse matters, I've seen an E400 on the 23:15 241 from Dudley

I don't remember there EVER being a decker on an all day 243/244 board before, but now the Timbertree Estate has been cleared for low trees, this may become less of a rarity. 4346 did one 243 trip the other night, until recently if a decker on the 276 was set to do a 243 in the evening, they would swap it off for a single, but they seem happy to let it on now

I don't know if this was maybe a change bus as when I saw it, it was operating nearly 17 minutes late out of Walsall at 1217, running together with the 336.
Additionally in Walsall there was a B10 on the 301 and I don't think its possible to have such a thing as a rare working on the 40/41 anymore - today it was being operated by an OmniLink, a few B7RLEs, Tridents & Enviros!

A question for the bus drivers on here - 5 hours on the Alumwell Circulars everyday sounds like a very repetitive & boring shift to be doing. As drivers, do you prefer portions like that or one with only 1 or 2 return trips?

677 on WA69 (And with 244 and 547 on the 70A thats why the trident is on the 335/6). Very rare for 677 to be on any route other than 335/6/then a 301

What time did you see the B6 on the 69. 1430 appeared to be taken off the 69 at 1225 (it came in with 69 destination, but then left the bus station NIS at 1225), so perhaps 677 was the replacement? That would explain why 677 was out, but not on the 335 (I.e. it was unavailable this morning, but available this afternoon).

Due to drivers seat. The 335 is very boring and easy gives driver headache and is hard to drive
With park cars everywhere. I personally think 4 trips on the 335 is enough.
If 677 was on the 69 its either change bus or a defect must have been found in morning
It's quite rare for 677 to go on anything but 335 might as well brand it.

PN - 4197 and 4200 on 244
I've never managed to catch a Trident on the 244 before, but tonight I've done it twice!
I wonder if PE are trying deckers out on all there routes to see how they will cope when the Mercs are gone and there are fewer singles around?
The 243 has been allowed deckers for at least a month now. I guess whilst the 243/244/276 continue to interwork evenings then this is going to keep happening ;D

Will have to see what the new running boards are like from tomorrow!
That's true Stu, I haven't got round to looking at the new 276 timetable yet so no idea how it will work
Will look at it when I get home, if the 9 which is supposedly 11 minutes late ever comes!
Actually the tridents do display 126E when on the way back to Wolverhampton, Always thought it was stupid but i have seen this many a time

Yep, they do, seen buses come into Dudley bus station NIS, sit on the patch for a bit and then head to the 126 Wolverhampton stand displaying 126E Wolverhampton
