One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

B7RLE's do keep making regular appearances on Park Lanes busy double decker services such as the 59 and 126.

But then contrary to what has been said the 27A I was on departing Dudley at 4 definetly needed its Trident, and 2002 which I saw 10 minutes earlier by Tesco had maximum 10 people on board so seemed to be managing fine, so it really is just chance whether a Decker is needed on some routes around that sort of time

Trident 4609

And you should have seen the full to the brim merc on the peak 59 board this afternoon.

I agree, the last B6 I rode on the 27 got jam packed and the 27A can get busier, it is only parts of the 27/27A that get busy but I do think decker boards are needed on there, whereas the odd single decker on the 59/126 won't do any harm

Ashley

Mercs or B7RLE's would be fine for the 27, the occassional decker would be ok as well but full contigents like we've seen the past few months aren't that neccessary

There is one double decker board on the 53/289 every day Davey

...having said that though, that's on the wrong board

Nathan4775

4815 on the 289  must have been the Double Board, was due back in WB at 14:59?

Nope, the double board leaves Merry Hill at 14:45 arriving at West Brom at 16:10 I think

Matt, the 1445 53 from Merry Hill is the decker board. If Nathan got the time right then that could sort of be classed as unusual couldn't it?

Sh4318

Someone did clarify the times of the (53/289) double decker working, but it can't find the thread it's in  :-[

Even on Sundays. Which makes me think, what route do the B7RLEs come off on Sunday evenings to go onto the 22-24? Or do they come from the garage?
