I thought the BC 9 journeys were school days only, certainly they are not shown on this weeks timetable on the NWM website?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Please tell me the 97 is getting new buses this year. Baffles me that one of NXWMs most frequent and heavily used (and 24 hour) routes is operating on tatty looking 11-14 year old buses.

They really do need a refurb but the buses that are used are really good.

The Fox 4846

For next year I hope/think that routes:
126, 61/63, 97, 65/67, 94
33 Asda Queslett via Perry Barr, Kingstanding, Pheasey
7 Sutton Coldfield via Witton, Perry Common, Boldmere

I hope that as well ! I caught it twice today and while the Tridents are seemingly reliable (Not speaking from an engineering standpoint) they are old and I feel as thought they need an upgrade.

I see a trend of NXWM tending to invest in routes where they see a strong potential to attract new passengers (car drivers).

The 97 passes through areas where most potential customers would be using bus anyway, perhaps this is why it's under-invested. No idea why it doesn't apply to the 94 where it goes through Castle Bromwich.

My guess would be that the bus routes in Solihull using buses from YW garage gets either new buses or displaced E400 from other routes before 94/97 is upgraded.

Like it or not, the 94 isn't the highest priority for cascades/new buses, it's perfectly fine being run by refurbished Geminis in the meantime. The 97 should be a candidate for at least cascades. Saying that the 61/63, 65/67 share the same/very similar frequencies, but are still operated by older buses

The fact that the competition are wiping the floor with NXWM (in terms of standards and passenger growth levels) doesn't count for anything especially from a business point of view. However I will accept that the competition does not run on eve and Sundays.

And of course, from someone who doesn't actually use it, let alone work for either company, you would know the passenger growth figures for both companies?

And as someone else has pointed out this

(yes I know that's AG's but Perry Barr's look the same)

is no different to

in attractiveness to most passengers

Both are clean tidy vehicles with excellent condition seating that take the same time to get to their destination.

My response to that is one is cheaper and one has not had a near monopoly for a number of years and their service has gone backwards. The other has grown over time without a monopoly handed to them from the tax payer and they have invested and grown. Just a general observation really.
