Can PN afford to get rid of 1614 or have they just enough buses to manage?

Suppose they could use parts from one of the withdrawn Mercs to repair it!

Or maybe 1652 as an option? Only been out of service a couple of days

Sadly I can't see them even trying to repair it unless they were really short of buses. It seems they are trying to get rid of the mercs when the opportunity comes along. So for instance at Park Lane, 1654,1675/6 all withdrawn due to accident damage (Which could have been repaired) so it was asked if there was any spare tridents that could transfer (4310/11/12/13 from YW came back to us) so those Mercs could be withdrawn

The only problem is, there aren't any spare buses to move around until any further new ones start to arrive. Unless any of the garages allocations are currently higher than they need to be to cover for refurbs?

Parts wouldn't be a problem to source, the big thing will be how many man hours/cost it would take for it to be put back together. If there's any possibility some of the Mercs could be sold on rather than all scrapped & it is in condition it may be worth repairing.

Hope the car was written off in the 1614 accident, another brainless gimp off the road (that's not me having a crack at all car drivers. Any bus driver on here would agree that there are too many idiots on the road nowadays)

Beyond the car is a person if the car is written off this would increase the likely hood of the driver been injured we all have the capacity to make mistakes. Your comments are a bit harsh.

Harsh but fair, they were happy enough to put the lives at risk of the people on the bus, let's face it they didn't give a second thought to who might get hurt on the bus aswell as the driver, could have been kids on board or elderly and probably were  :-\

Popped to the garage this morning.

Yesterdays accident victim, 2095 is parked up on the back far side of the depot with the doors tape up, presume it is still required by the police?

1614 is parked in the dead box, ironically parked next to 1654. 1614 damage doesn't look so bad when you see it in real life, NE must be thinking about having it repaired.

Strangely 1614 was the only bus (apart from withdrawn 1654) parked in the dead box.

The diversion on the 276 whilst Red Hill roadworks take place is causing confusion, my cousin was waiting in Worcester Street Stourbridge yesterday waiting to go to Norton, 276 arrived and she boarded without looking at the destination display (her fault) & next thing she knew she was heading for Pedmore.

Surely if they want to use Worcester Street as the diversion, they shouldn't stop at the stops on that road.

Passed by the depot today, nothing much to report.

1614 is still in the dead box now with the usual red card in the window, although as Karl says it will be probably be withdrawn, it still has its ticket machine, so there is still hope for it.
