Only for the photograph lol. As has been mentioned before, AG/YW share their destination database.

Talk around W/B garage is that 10/20 drivers left the farm a couple of weeks a go, drivers sent from Wolverhampton, Westbrom to cover. Does anyone know actual numbers. Can't say I blame them there duties are terrible no traveling time either. No proper staff bus set up either.

On pensnett blinds when doing short journeys
There is two lots programmed into the blinds
Eg the 28 short to merry hill can be put up
28 MERRY HILL via Withymoor
Or
28E MERRY HILL  part route
Same as the 8 to Dudley shorts
8 DUDKEY via merry hill
Or
8E DUDLEY  Part route

This is probably why.

West Brom and Snett also have different databases that are set up differently

Isn't it that timetabled shorts don't use the E, and non timetabled curtailments do show the E?

E.g a non timetabled curtailment to the 28 would show 28E MERRY HILL, whereas the timetabled shorts show 28 MERRY HILL

Yes, but there's always going to be some mixing, one way or another.

Stagecoach Bluebird avoids this by telling drivers what blinds to have up on their running boards

That's quite confusing.  Understand why it makes sense for people in the know, but not necessarily for passengers .

Not really.  Timetabled short workings are advertised in the timetable as terminating short, so there is no 'exception' (which is what the E refers to) to the timetabled service.

To be honest, I don't think the average passenger cares whether the display shows "12E Oldbury" or "12 Oldbury" as long as they can see the bus is only going as far as Oldbury.

My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath
