I noticed the Reading MMCS are more comfortable to ride in upstairs and they have 3 more inches legroom on the offside with one less row of seats in a longer vehicle. The moquette and interior is more welcoming and elegant too!

Why would you need any more leg room? I have a few inches to spare in every seat and I am 6' tall. I have actually heard complaints about too much leg room as smaller people cannot reach the handrails on the seat in front!

Puts NXs to shame in all fairness

I'm less than 6 foot but have friends over 6 foot tall who should also have sufficient legroom.
Stagecoach's MMCs in Manchester achieve more legroom by having back to back seats at the back upstairs.

Also more inviting than what we've got in the West Midlands and without claustrophobic advert on the rear window!

Back to back seats are not good, as most people used them as footrests

I disagree. Our MMC's are the best I've seen, both internally and externally. There shouldn't be any issues with legroom either as I'm a little over 6 foot and find them perfectly comfortable. I'll save the old chestnut about the minority majority rant for somebody else

That actually reduced legroom, Why do you think train companies take face to face seats out and replace them with 'Airline' seats. It is done on Stagecoach to try to reduce the vandalism problem. As all seats face forward on NXWM buses the advert certainly isn't claustrophobic

Stagecoach facing seats are plastic (see image in previous reply) with appropriate notice as seen on original Enviro.

Abellio's MMCs in London have a warm red interior also have downstairs no emergency exit presumably as they are dual door and have windows that are capable being used as emergency exit.

Not claustrophobic, but i can't see the sense in buying buses with windows at the rear and then covering them up. If NE wanted to use the space for advertising purposes, why didn't they tell ADL not to bother putting windows in?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

The NXWM interior is very good I find - those back to back seats Stagecoach aren't a good idea - simply leads to ruined seats up there. More than enough legroom on NX's versions and you'll find the Platinum MMCs will have an interior that will likely match, or surpass the Reading interior.

The general state of that window is appalling for a new bus, and on a par with a PB 42xx that hasn't been to Walsall for 6 years!

JoNi

It's an older Enviro to show the sign.

With  Transforming Bus Travel 4 on horizon perhaps an idea would be to fit a number of similar modern buses with different interiors and seek feedback from the customers who have to travel in them!

I believe Nottingham sought the views of their bus users before opting for their latest design with headrests for all new deliveries.

No NXWM Enviros, even the same age 47xx ones which have never been to Walsall as bad as that

There was an ex pensnet enviro I saw with particularly bad etching the other day (may have been 4809 or 4819?)

My biggest gripe with the nx interiors is the grey plastics. The light blue really set the bus off and gave a light, airy feel
