Surely the most logical thing would have been to stop the next trident into Stourbridge on the 246, put that on the 9 and give the 246 a merc in exchange???

824 is on an all night board on the 9! Rode it on the 22:50 out of Stourbridge all the way to Birmingham and back to my stop (just before Halesowen)

You could understand it doing one trip if there were no suitable spares, but no staying out during the evening peak & the rest of the night

It just about coped on the journey I rode, on the outbound journey (towards city centre) there was only 1 other passenger at one point, although coming out of the city it was literally jam-packed but with only one standee.

Is anybody actually monitoring/enforcing the emissions rules? Could they not have just put a Merc on there instead for the extra seats? I doubt any Centro people (or whoever operates the emission zone rules) would've noticed

Isn't there some kind of CCTV system?

Well they took 824 of the 222 and put that on the 9. 4802 was also on the 222 so that should have gone onto the 9 but atleast the 9 has finally had an E200 on there. Have all routes been operated by 823/4 at PE?

Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Think so except 256S

Trident 4609

256E goes onto an X96/222 doesn't it? So 824 probably has appeared on there

823 I know had. Its the 1800 X96 ex Stourbridge that gets the ex 256E bus

Unless they made a conscious decision to let an e200 stay out all night to see how it would cope? maybe they considering whether singles could cope on the 9 at night to cut down the mileage on the enviro 400. Just a thought!

Ash

I know it's not the same but WB cut the capacity on the 5 service from double decker using the presidents to enviro 200 which come from other routes may be the 40 or the 46 not sure. Obviously this happened due to the capacity being lower and also probably due to vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

The Real 4778

The 800s are staple power for the evenings due to the lighter loadings coupled with huge fuel economies over the other types of bus available.
Don't you start.

But the 9's loadings aren't lighter in the evening, due to the frequency decrease from 7 minutes to 30 minutes, and the crowds of people catching the bus back from the city centre in the evening

You sometimes get very busy 9's/141's late at night.
