Bob

prob one of the better ones ( internally anyway)

arrivaaston

i dont no, the PAST COUPLE OF DAYS IT HAS BLACK SMOKE COMIN OUT THE EXAUST EVERYTIME IT PULLS AWAY

arrivaaston

knowing arriva theyll proberbly keep this bus on, it will be like 2022 L522 BNX (if anybody remebers this bus) and last for ever but to be fair, for a dart of its age, it sounds a bit better than the 51 plates, not much better but abit better lol

Discodave

yes a good old bus shame about the cab space I have rather long legs even with the seat right back it was a little cramped

arrivaaston

why was 2396 & 2398 withdrawn and not this one?

I cant see why CANNOCK dont just withdraw P504 MOT 2397 now give it a white and grey respray job and they could put it to use at CANNOCK as a L driver training vehicle

Discodave

if its one of the est lancs bodied mpd type buses is could not be used as a driver trainer too small they need to be a full size 38 ft bus correct me if I am wrong

Bob

its one of the UVG bodied ones & internally by far one of the best, but also one of the oldest

There are many reason for not using darts as trainers. Although they can be used for training they cannot be used for taking tests.
As well as the length previously mentioned, test vehicles have to have ABS, be capable of getting to more than 50mph, have a digital tachograph.

Why do you think so many operators all use the same vehicles (B10s) they are the oldest vehicles easily made to meet the requirements.
National Express, Arriva, Stagecoach and First all use B10s

Surprised any Arriva bus can do over 50mph based at Cannock, have ABS most service buses abs fault of some description and a digi tacho now that's too expensive for the arriva tightwads it does not cost 2 and 6 pence that's is about how much is spent in maintenance and to have a 2006 plate above bus for traning bit of a waste as fitting a digi tacho is at least £1500 what do NXWM use for tests as the B10 buses were not new in 2006 for a digi tacho cant see NXWM paying that money for a digi tacho

NXWM use the ex gas bus B10Ls and the two coaches for tests. The new rules came in when the gas buses were converted into trainers, so had ABS and digital tachographs fitted at time of conversion. The two latest additions are also buses that were converted originally then reconverted to service bus spec, but still kept ABS and tachos

So you could do some moonlighting on coach trips and make a bit of cash
