Notification of cancellations

Looks like Walsall Bus Station RTI  has started displaying CANCELLED on certain journeys, as the 0719 529 from Walsall is flashing it up!

this has been happening a lot recently - i've seen it in halesowen bus station and on the hagley road for the 9, X8 and X10.

i wonder if it's a gradual rollout or it'll be to all bus stops with real-time updates.

It was TfWM's plan to change the info displayed on RTI screens at interchanges and stops, to make it more accurate and correct for passengers. One of the 'improvements' was to show where specific journeys had been cancelled.

It would be interesting to know if that service did actually turn up. I assume that the operator would be needing to mark a particular journey as cancelled so the feed system can pick this up.

i'd seen it in northfield waiting for the X20 the one time - it said cancelled for a 61 and the first bus that showed was the one after, so it definitely works in at least some cases

I've seen this when looking at the real time screens in the Sadlers in Walsall at first I thought it might have been a glitch as the ones there also show the Trains and maybe the Train screen had a glitch that had dragged over. It was only when the train screen displayed and showed no trains cancelled I figured it was for the buses, At first I thought oh maybe that Operator is going out of Bussiness until I noticed it was an NX Service. I then saw it at Darlaston the other day for a 79 when there were delays making it late, It did turn up though around the time of the one after it so it wasn't cancelled unless one started service from somewhere else along the route and the other was running the full route.
