Your saying Wolverhampton buses should be blue because it's the name of their football team?

jasmine

WV can be orange or something, I don't think liveries being different colours based on the city the buses are ran is such a far fetched idea considering Coventry does exactly that, it was also, an idea, a suggestion, i did not say it should be put into immediate effect.

No Coventry doesn't have different coloured buses. It has Grey buses.
Are you also proposing a different colour for BC buses and PB buses?

Quote from: Tony on November 10, 2024, 01:27:34 PMI personally think Manchester's yellow is an awful shade that looks worn even when freshly applied. London Red looks brilliant freshly painted, but like all reds fades badly in sunlight and many London buses run around looking ropey where replacement panels or repairs are done in non-faded red.

I didn't find any Citibuses in Belfast that looked 'fresh' either. The Ulsterbus blue vehicles do though.
I agree with the Manchester comment, interesting to see what it looks like after 3 years

NXWM operates in the West Midlands where theres several football clubs , so should Wolverhampton buses be orange/black,  WB buses be blue/white , Coventry sky blue again, no idea what colours walsall football team use

Quote from: jasmine on November 10, 2024, 04:19:12 PMAs Marge said, grey is just extremely flat and unwelcoming compared to other cities' colours, just off the top of my head I thought that the colour blue could be nice, our football team is literally nicknamed "The Blues". It would make sense and have a meaning linked to the city, even a brighter silver colour (like the U11DD) could be nice as a nod to our Selfridges building, maybe even a dark brown with gold highlights to pay homage to our bull? maybe a blue red and yellow livery that takes inspiration from not only UOB but the Birmingham flag, there were many other colours that could've evoked something nice about this city than several boring and muted greys.

even more ideas, why not bring back one of the older colour schemes like blue and silver/blue and cream and port it to something like the TfWM diamond pattern, I feel like that could look nice and iconic? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1242937202850140302/1305207040767037530/image.png?ex=67323048&is=6730dec8&hm=55bf51e8141548c350399b5e0f1d156560424ea343137d29d48f4a8d6c887ec9&;
Our other football team isn't called the Blues and has a significantly larger fan base than Birmingham City.

Regardless, I do think that a more vibrant colour than grey would have been far more effective if a single colour had to be the way forward.

Because as has been stated two colours cost a lot more, up to £1000 per extra colour.

As NXWM is unlikely to make any profit this year that would mean all that extra cost would come out of the £44m

Just out of curiosity how much would a bus like 4905 cost to repaint on average?

Quote from: JosephR on November 08, 2024, 06:21:11 PMshould have just kept Sutton line branding, at least till it could be polished out/ ad wrapped / repainted. Wouldn't be so scruffy looking if that branding weren't just bodged on.
But having Sutton lines branding running around in Wolverhampton isn't much use to anyone there. It does look a mess in my opinion but it's better than having branding for a route which the bus will never operate on again.

Then again, I think most people would just be grateful if it shows up and takes them to where they want to be!

I'm not a fan of the grey, though it is much more practical as it doesn't show the dirt as much.

Red and White.
If you go down the Football team route it would be confusing as basically it would like something Trent Barton created with different colours could be confused with different brands and then you would have to repaint say a West Brom bus out of Blue and White if it moves to say BC or PB where it would have to be repainted Claret and Blue or Blues Shade of Blue opposed to Navy Blue Stripes. What NX could do is name buses to honour local legends who could be linked to Football but that would be likely troublesome if the bus moves. Some Wolves buses are named after local legends such as Beverley Knight

Nobody cares what i think but the Grey is better than White which we had for a short while (Plaxton Presidents) i dont see the need to keep changing colours, but, the old Express Leyland National livery looks good, Cream with Blue Bands inset with Gold Striped & Lettering, although i also think the BCT livery looks good one modern vehicles aswell...

we already discovered im a dinosaur anyway, we know what happened to them !!

Hopefully it will just be the TfWM WMB livery it looks the best in my opinion out of the major cities and will will look more unified as it is the livery on trains and trams in the area

BlackCountryBusSpotter

I think the Coventry Red and Cream Livery looks nice to, maybe this could be an idea Coventry could have that livery, we could go back to the old Corporate liveries Walsall Blue and Yellow, WB Blue and Cream, Black and Cream so on although that would detract from the Buses in the Hertiage Livery, so maybe Grey and Red like the old Red and White could have been done. Maybe NX know that eventually Franchising will happen so they feel it's pointless to paint Buses into Colours Like Crimson so have chosen bare basic Grey as then whoever takes on the Franchise and whatever colour the Mayor chooses assuming he doesn't stick with Mr Street's Red they can paint it into those colours and maybe Who knows if it isn't that maybe the cost of say Crimson Paint has gone up that NX thought Grey is cheaper so let's go with that.

The current WMB Livery is rubbish, have a look at the state of the current vehicle's that have been painted in it.

Red is one the worst colours for fading & can go pink over time.
