Arricas Cannock fleet has been worse in recent years, The various step entrance Scanias, the worst being the ones with high backed seats, trashed Lynxes being just 2 examples.

On another note. Excel 704 ran from Finchfield into Wolves on the first 62, it arrived late into town and then Solo 293 went out on the next trip

mranon

its not unusual to see an excel on the 62, they appear every so often if a solo breaks down etc. also, when the 62 arrives into wolves, that bus then turns into a 26 to bilston

Ashley

I remember when it was the 682, after the last trip it would go on the afternoon 528s. Doesn't a solo go on the 11 during school holidays because during term time, the Spectras stay on the 11 all day, same for 32/33

I saw one of Burton's DAF's yesterday and jumped on it to get home on the 112, 3710, in the same batch as some of Cannock's...it's been totally retrimmed, refurbished and repainted and looks brilliant...these buses are only 10 years old like some of NXWM's Tridents that are being overhauled, so maybe Arriva will overhaul all of these to a similar standard. Like any bus, if they're looked after you don't notice the age.

Only if Cannock make money the buses will be replaced or overhauled usually they get shitty cast offs and the good buses transferred elsewhere would not be suprised if the newer buses they have get moved elsewhere and crap in return

Surely it is common sense and simple economics that the newer buses go to the most profitable garages. You cannot say ,on one hand, that Cannock routes lose money and then criticise Arriva for not filling the garage with expensive new buses.
A good idea would be to study the history of Crosville and it's successor (one of them) Crosville Wales to understand the reason for the age profile at garages.

People would get on cannocks buses if they all were not scrap they only get new buses when the council pay for them as part of quality partnerships.  Pye greens make money crap clapped out mpd pointer darts on them mainly.  Route 1 does well clapped out DAF sb 200's on them a lot of routes do well in Cannock but are either ruined by meddling by bosses trying to make them serve every nook and cranny or people are put off by a poor fleet and high fares a lot of passengers in my arriva days have always moaned about bus quality compared with other arriva areas like telford and tamworth

2019 replaced a sick Trident mid-morning.  There was also a Spectra on the 59 and Excel 715 on the 1.  It appears that WN has a shortage of Tridents.

Ashley

Its not a Trident shortage, many are parked up at Park Lane for schools and spares, either that or Tridents were running the 11/32/33 in place of Spectras today. Either that or weve got more away for repaint
