Saturday 07/04/12:

2080 was noted on the 241 (Dudley - Halesowen) this afternoon.  Do these PE B7RLE's stray away often from the Birmingham-bound routes?

The 244 (Dudley - Hasbury), which in my experience is usually run by early Volvo B6LE, seemed to be wall-to-wall Merc O405's today, I rode 1593 into Halesowen, and we passed two others including 1665.

And 1404 was operating on the 67 Castle Vale this evening!

The 241 is booked B7RLE as it interworks with the 140. This has meant that the mercs have been able to be concentrated onto the 222/243/244 afaik

Ash

Theres hardly any b6le's left at Pensnett so most routes that were b6le will see mercs or be totally merc operated same happening at West Brom

Ossie

Thanks for the info on the PE workings, guys!

Up to the end of March Fleetchanges there were still 17 x B6LE's allocated to PE, there may be a couple more withdrawals now 2095, 2097 & 2098 are in service. I believe 622 may have been seen operating in Walsall not sure whether a loan or transfer? 617 is the only B6LE @ PE left in TWM livery so that be on the hit list. All the rest are in NXWM livery & the bulk have been refurbished/retrimmed

Yeah i had a ride on 622 last week on the 34 and i would think this has transferred to replace older b6le at walsall

winston

I thought it was seen at Walsall before the end of March, but doesn't appear on the latest fleetchanges

597 & 622 are now withdrawn after only 2 weeks of service at Walsall

Stu

Probably only a temporary measure then! Walsall will lose a number of B6LEs which should be replaced with some B10Ls from AG.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

On Good Friday I went to Walsall hoping to find B10L's in service but I didn't see any.
However I did see 17 Walsall B6LE's in service, 4129 and 4136 were on the 29, 4374 was on the 41

On Tuesday3rd I got on 1646 on route 141, there was another Merc, sorry I didn't get the fleetnumber

Yesterday (7th), 1423 1434 1436 1438 and 1440 were on the 71/72 with some scanias and volvos. 2099 and 4023 were on the 37.1519 and 1615 were on route 205. 1549 and 1677 were on route 27.

Just thought I'd share those with anybody interested

winston

The 205 & 297 at least seem to be worked by solid Mercs since a large number of the B6 have been withdrawn

Yeah they are, any pensnett routes that don't currently get use of the new volvos its alsmot solid mercs which I don't mind because some are in good condition, as well as the B6's

winston

Of the B6 that remain at Pensnett, which routes are still solid B6 operated? Is it the 222, 243 & 244? I have seen more Mercs of late on the 222, the 243 normally uses Mercs of evenings etc

Ash

The 238 still sees alot of b6le which im suprised with as at WB it was merc operated and with mercs becoming available at Pensnett it still see's mostly b6le's with the occasional merc
