Does that include modifying other routes, re: 46? Please tell me the 48 isn't going change back.

I bet they will bring back 84 but that's if there is going to be a petition from the public.

Here's a thought - they could always extend the 76 from Northfield via the 46 route to the QE to create one colossal loop... almost as bizarre as the previous iteration of the 48

Thats a long enough route as it is. And it'd probably be very confusing in the Selly Oak area at Gibbins Road.
The change for the 11 in Erdington where both directions stop on the same stop doesn't seem to have worked out very well. They changed it from a simple a arrangement to a confusing one with people getting on the bus going the wrong way etc, even when I was there the other day. Why they couldn't have buses via Perry Barr & Bearwood use the unload stop across the road i've no idea.

I was being ironic - hence my use of the word bizarre

Based on what I see, the Hawkesley to Northfield part of the 46/prev 48 seems to carry more passengers than Hawkesley to QE. Extension of the 35 to Northfield as one of the options?

Makes you wonder why they don't just curtail the 76 at the QE, then combine that part of the route with the 46 to make a 'south-west circular' service.
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

The frequencies don't match.
So one would have to go up or down and given the 84 used to be hourly, a higher frequency might not be viable.

It was just a throwaway comment, I didn't say that was what was going to happen. Of course, if it did then I'm sure the route planners would figure something out.

But on what Stu said the 46 would also be taking over the Northfield - Weoley Castle  - Harborne - old 29 section. Not just the old 84 section.

Apologies, I've read that wrong. So in that instance the old 29 section would have nothing.

I know but unless the frequencies change I can't see it happening. I doubt they can combine a 20 min and 30 min service.

or possibly just not replacing the 46 and keeping the 41

Extending some of the 35 journeys seems like the obvious option.

Seems odd Hawkesley will lose its direct link to Cotteridge and Kings Norton Station.

It's not odd if people in Hawkesley don't use that bus service.

In recent times, the rerouting of the 45 has given parts of Hawkesley a frequent link with Cotteridge, maybe this has had an impact.
