Not wishing to appear to be like a vulture picking over the bones , but has anyone compiled a list of recently ceased operators ?? Obviously Shearings etc is the largest , Alexcars one of the earlier casualties and Plymouth Citycoach and Smith's of Tring two of the more recent. It goes without saying that I wish all employees of such entities all the best for the future.

Seaview coaches, truemans coaches, nova tours, and swallow coaches have also gone so far.

Rumours are going around in regards to Eurolines being liquidated.
Don't judge me until you've walked in my size ten shoes.

The CPT last week released the results of a business conference survey for how the coach industry could look without government assistance. It is estimated that by September 300 coach operators will be in administration and by November a further 350 operators will be lost. April 2021 could see a total of 41% of all operators lost, 23000 jobs lost and 9,100 vehicles removed from the countries coach fleet.
On Monday 420 coaches took part in a demonstration in London (Honk for Hope) to highlight the perilous plight the UK coach industry is in.
i believe the CPT will have further discussions with government this week with regards to funding and there are outline plans for a further Honk for Hope demonstration in Edinburgh on August 6th.

Thanks folks. After reading andyr's post . . . . wow , that is one gloomy prediction. If other sectors of the economy contract in a similar vein then the "bounce back" needs to start now. I guess a lot of smaller operators and one man bands will go without people other than in their immediate locality knowing. I wish everyone all the best.

Trying to look on a positive side of it all.... but I'm wondering if this might signal a new way of working?
If different sectors of the transport industry could start working together ie Bus companies (or even god forbid freight companies) taking on coach work? I mean, obvious examples that springs to mind as already doing both is Johnsons, primarily a coach company with local bus work, and NXWM having some NX coach work in house. I dunno, maybe that's the way forward?
Recently Swanbrook have stopped running their only bus service 853 Oxford to Cheltenham which on it's own doesn't make their future look certain, but they also do MOT and servicing work, so maybe they'll be safe
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

Another big name in local firm Mike deCoursey Travel has gone into administration sadly.  Two other casualties are Angus of Needham Market and Stalham of Ibstock.

Don't think they did!  As far as i'm aware, just the hotels were taken over.

No they did not, Shearings parent group Specialist Leisure Group, SLG went into administration on 22/05/2020
https://www.busandcoachbuyer.com/shearings-parent-group-in-adminstration/

The Shearings brand was bought from the administrators by Leger Holidays (but not its coaches or hotels or staff), the Caledonian Travel & National Holidays brands have also been purchased but it is only the brands, nothing else.

I guess a few operators have picked up some cheap stock as I bet they would be distress sale price.
