A few at WN today

The Suspension on 633 stopped working so was taken back to PL . 2005 was sent out on the 82 as the change bus

4564 sent back to garage with a defect off a 126. Sent back to garage between 12:30-1PM  and replaced with a 551* B5LH

Driver came into garage this afternoon with 4594 which came off 529's with a defect. So I took his board number etc then gave him 4547 a a change bus as it was the most appropriate bus spare

Also I took a call from a driver on 1684 on the 59 saying there was a problem with the speedo so I gave the engineer 4011 to send to the bus station to swap for 1684.

Also 4558 came into W'ton off the 59 with lost air pressure. We finally sent it back to garage this afternoon and swapped it with 4008

Finally whilst in dispatch this morning I heard a call put out for 4587 on the 255 or 256 to transfer its passengers to the next bus and run private to Pensnett Garage. It also came back to Park Lane this afternoon defective

Also 586 came in off an 81 overheated so engineer tried to fix the problem which he did successfully. I adjusted the bus to run dead to Dudley in time for the  13:15 81 to Merry Hill

Work experience this week at Park Lane. I was in despatch this afternoon allocating buses and with an inspector this morning on duty in the bus station. I've finished now so back to school on Monday. I have enjoyed having an insight into how the company functions (I've been described as the next Peter Coates amongst the PL staff with my knoweledge supposedly).

So I have been able to do a lot on my last day

Also one more from today,1677 broken down at Willenhall on the 25 this afternoon (Came through on the radio)

So yes, several defects, but not one tow in? Strange that, someone up thread said there were half a dozen tow ins every day to Wolverhampton when they were comparing Cannock to Wolves.

Nope all driven back to garage. Who said there are lots of tow ins every day in Wolves?  Yes of course there are some buses towed back to garage like every garage but I can tell you this week I have seen just one bus towed in and that was a B6! So whoever posted that either caught WN on a bad day or they are seeing things!

It is probably in the Cannock thread, it was posted during the time Cannock were having double figure breakdowns every day. I knew it was rubbish when it was posted but your week at WN proves it

Tbh yes there has been off weeks in the past where a fair few buses have been towed away but the only ever time I see that level of buses in W'ton being towed back to garage is when it is very warm (B6's,Tridents and Spectra's are prone to overheat)and in the heavy snow! Plus I am in Wolverhampton most days and I see  most are just driven back to garage.

Plus when I do see buses on the back of Mansfield trucks its mercs or hybrids not tridents!

Not sure if something was up with 2149 on the 29 earlier, it was at a set of traffic lights half way up Broad Street with the hazards on, no passengers, and I don't think the driver was in the cab. 6pm.

Don't know whether there had been a breakdown anywhere, but an engineer was driving 4800 about 17:30 through Oldswinford?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Yesterday evening 4839 expired whilst on the 8 in front of my very own eyes! It drove past before all the lights suddenly went off as well as the destination displays and the engine! It managed to start again before failing again further down the road! Not sure what happened later on!
Favourite buses currently:
871, 1828, 4421, 4764, 6101, 6108, 6116, 6118, 6121, 6848, 6849

4037 had a defect of some sort (not sure what it was) while working I presume the 09:58 73 ex Solihull as it was parked up by my local stop for the 73 towards the Yew Tree (opposite Mardon Road) with hazard lights flashing seen between 10:30-11:00 4037 may have been there since 10:10 if it did work the 09:58 ex Solihull.
60 Birmingham - Cranes Park
72/72A Solihull Station - Chelmsley Wood
73 Solihull - Heartlands Hospital
X1 Birmingham - Coventry

Overheard a driver on the S1 saying about him breaking down on the 73 - he said he was there for about 2 hours. Lost all pressure and couldn't even shut the doors.
