I'm not sure the other Enviro driving over the pavement is the most acceptable of practices...

There are other members of staff supervising the vehicle as it mount the pavement if you look carefully. This was more than likely immediate response to the breakdown. If they couldn't get 4993 moving, I would imagine the buses would have been diverted via Bishop Street and the Ring Road.

The driver of the bus supervised pedestrians. Police who attended Sainsburys for another matter drove over the pavement and didnt have a problem with how the situation was dealt with. After half an hour the bus was pushed backwards out of the way by drivers, engineers and a bus spotter wearing a hi-vi. Another driver acted as a banksman. A tow truck eventually arrived and towed the bus back to the garage. Two NX Revenue Inspectors walked past en route to check tickets.

Sounds like an Health and Safety nightmare!

Employees / 'Bus Spotters' pushing buses on the public highway?  Good grief.

There is a wonderful irony that when bus company had its own tow truck at the local bus garage it was rarely needed! There don't seem to be any supervisory staff to take charge of situations like this on the ground either nowadays!

Upper Dean Street has been blocked for nearly 5 hours today causing diversions due to a Diamond bus breaking down at the junction of Moat Lane at 13:50. It was finally moved at 18:45

1859 was causing chaos in Halesowen earlier broken down with hazards on. Appears all companies have break downs 🤔

Yes all companies have break downs, that's not news, but 1859 was not causing chaos for 5 hours. It was still drivable and the driver reversed it into the emergency parking bay with the assistance of one of the TfWM staff as banksman. The poor lady who helped it reverse got soaked as it happened during a downpour

BX09 SNV. Rotala engineer came and tried their best to get the bus running but no luck. It was interesting seeing buses reversing and did three-point turns. Click here for the picture.
