What amazes me about the 4 is that, considering how many buses operate on it, every bus seems really busy!!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Nx drivers on 301 were not happy saying they should have done it on a Sunday due to late workings, and passengers also didn't like all the spotters it seems

1447 is on 301 until midnight.

Its not as though it happens every week, so the locals have nothing to worry about and I also spoke to a driver who wasn't very happy, but that was because some people who were photographing at Walsall bus station were standing in dangerous areas.

Must admit I tried to find a safe place where possible in Walsall, as this is the first time I've done 'on street spotting', the other occasions being being at the open days.

By the post office back doors, where 4001 was parked, seemed to be a popular place initially.

Other people were standing on the traffic island, within the barriers, which gave you buses in 2 directions, coming into Walsall & coming out of the bus station.

I stood by the row of shops as well.

4125 on the 6/10 today. Its not often WA Tridents are used on Sunday's. Since these two routes appeared to convert to double deck operation on Sunday's, it has appeared to be either an E400 or a Gemini.

What are the bus numbers for the WA29? WA29-01 02 03 04 05?

Like on the driver's duty cards it has a large font in bold on top right hand corner e.g WA29/01 so WA is Walsall Garage code and 29 for route 29 and whats the numbers stand for like 01 02 03 04 05 etc?

That is the running card number, for example 29/03 is the third bus on the 29.

Even the specials on the 301 yesterday, they had running cards, i think? the one i saw was 301/93.

Cheers Stuart, I thought it was mate, was not sure if it was the bus running number or the driver duty number, glad I know now, been trying to find out for a while so I can start putting the bus running numbers, down on the timetables I have.

Tomf1993

That means the weekday 1805 Walsall to Bloxwich is running number 05 from what ive seen. I assume this will then do the 1835 back to Walsall unless they go onto a different route after the trip? Its hard to work out each trips, as some times a bus may have loads stand time or straight in and out with little stand time, to work out the exact TT you would need to watch the service start to finish. do any 29s return the garage during the day/night as layover buses or just for driver change overs/breaks?

This has reminded me, the weekend running boards have changed at several garages (except Walsall and PB it seems). Saturdays are now start from **/41 and Sundays now start from **/71.

For example at WN, the first bus out of garage on a Saturday would be 79/41. On Sundays for example, the first 59 would be 59/71.

Also, another addition to the running boards is the vehicle type printed so at WN, a Trident allocated route has 'Trid' on the board. The 904 i had today mentioned 'Sutton Branded E400' on the board.
I did think it was just WN but i caught 49/43 and 9/41 last Saturday so both PN and WB have changed their boards too.
