Passengers Who Fall To Sleep

How do drivers deal with passengers who fall to sleep and dont get of bus at terminus.   Surely there is going to be a case of fare invasion.

That would be ridiculously unfair... we're all human and we've all nearly fell asleep on a bus. Though never on a Platinum... the 'next stop' guy will keep you awake lol

To be honest, I do that fairly regulary on the 11/ 13.

Last time I did it, they had stopped at the stop that used to be outside the old General Hospital for a ticket check!

I was once a passenger who fell asleep on a bus. It was in TWM days and i had been out for a few, probably quite a few drinks.

I caught the 37 just after midnight at the stop that used to be opposite the Electric Cinema. I sat on the upper deck behind the stairs. In those days buses leaving town at that time of night were quite rowdy (no Uber back then) but i still managed to doze off fairly quickly.

After what felt like about 5 minutes i opened my eyes to find the bus strangely quiet and empty. It was a fairly cold night and all of the windows were heavily steamed up. To my surprise when i made a hole in the condensation there was another bus about 18 inches away. At about the same time that i realised the engine wasn't running, i also realised that the bus was in a large building. Namely Acocks Green bus garage.

I went downstairs to find the doors open so walked out into the middle of the depot. A cleaner (i think) saw me straight away, it made him jump and he dropped whatever he was carrying - a broom i think. I politely asked him the direction of Westley Rd and he kindly escorted me to within spitting distance.

A quick check of the watch revealed that i'd had quite a good sleep - it was just on the turn of 6 o'clock in the morning. Luckily i didn't have a long walk home.

One of my friends, however, at around the same time, used to regularly have to walk home from Wellhead Lane to the other end of Kingstanding having fallen asleep on the 33.

A Polish driver at Pete's Travel found a passenger asleep after his last trip on Redditch 57/58, didn't know what to do so drove him back to depot. At this time Redditch services were operating out of Hill Top!!

I drifted off on the 9 about 8 years ago and was woken up by the driver shouting "Last stop!" at Stourbridge bus station. Walked off the bus in a daze, realised where I was and walked to the taxi office across the road.

Don't sleep too soundly.  You might fall asleep on a 13 and wake up on an 11A.

A Stagecoach 48 from Coventry to Leicester arrived at the end of the route (forget the year now), driver spotted someone he thought was asleep, went to go wake him up and found out that he wasn't actually asleep, he was dead!
I believe the same happened on the Outer Circle before too?

While travelling home earlier on the 11A, a fellow passenger decided to wake up some woman just behind me, who appeared to be sleeping. I wish he hadn't, because we were travelling through Hall Green, and she was from Handsworth, and was clearly off her face, probably on drugs or something. Despite being told that she'd get back to Handsworth (eventually) if she stayed on the bus, she decided to get off on Fox Hollies Road. Upon being stirred from her slumber (just after Kings Heath) she was apparently asking where an "Errol" was, who was with her. What a lovely fella, leaving his friend behind.

On the flipside, there was another fella who got on the same bus, and I wish he'd fallen asleep, he was also clearly off his head on drugs and being aggressive, repeatedly pressing the stop bell while the driver was waiting time on Westley Road.

I was in Walsall the once coming back from shopping with my family where there was a man asleep on the 51 and the police got called
