How many routes make a profit

With the changing nature of towns and cities how many bus services actually make any money, in my hometown of Wolverhampton I see a lot of empty buses.  1 Dudley-Tettenhall Wood most journeys outside of school times minibuses could easily cope especially the Wolverhampton-Tettenhall wood, the same for the 4, 11; 32, 33 there never seem to be anybody on them even at peak times they are not really full. Express operate part 1, 11, 32 even three buses are the same. This will only get worse with Beatties going.
