However having looked at the Worcestershire document online the gist of it is that one can prepurchase ones connecta at the start of one's journey as long as one has a valid ticket or pass covering the out boundary bit, example a nbus or single/return fare. That's how it reads to me anyway...

That is what it reads between the lines.

No real system is going to work due to people traveling further ie those in Herefordshire going to Gloucester and Warwickshire to Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire, but a system for Greater centro needs to be looked at so you can get from the north midlands to the south with out having to buy half a dozen to get there.

How many people actually make those journeys? The admin costs would far exceed the revenue and actually push bus fares UP!

How many use the 144 146 147 192 125 150 X20 318 247 26?

Do I need to go on with cross county routes that are not on the centro area and those that start out of the centro area?
Midland Red West, one of the best Companies to serve Redditch, with some of the best buses.

No, You said North Midlands to South Midlands buying half a dozen tickets.

And to be honest, so few people actually use those buses and another bus requiring a connecting ticket that is not currently available that my point still stands. The admin costs would far outweigh the income and increase fares.

It is not just a case of someone saying 'let's have a joint Centro/Worcestershire ticket' and buses selling them.
Do you actually realise what has to go on behind the scenes to make multi-operator/area tickets work?
I am all for them, but so few would be sold that the operators would basically end up not getting a penny from them.

Wow, appear to have caused a shitstorm from nothing... Didn't mean it in that way at all.

Thats what I meant, being able to buy the ticket outside the area, because I know from previous experience that some drivers are very dodgy about selling them.

Take wythall though, for example. NWM passes are valid as far down as Beckets farm island, and the Connecta tickets are valid up to the Maypole, so there is a reasonable overlap. Rubery, by contrast, has no overlap at all, which strikes me as weird
Now in exile in Oxfordshire....

The 147's do seem to be very popular. I think the connections at Halesowen with buses to Merry Hill Shopping Centre are helping especially among the OAP's.

I have seen  the Tewkesbury services are also pretty popular again for not just people travelling to Upton on Severn and Tewkesbury bus also users travelling beyond Tewkesbury to Cheltenham and Gloucester.

I can see the 147 being very busy in a few months time when we get closer to Christmas

Very pleased to hear this. I think First approached the Worcestershire cuts in a very positive manner. These initiatives deserve to succeed.
