Quote from: tombzy on April 27, 2025, 09:17:59 AMIt still costs time to apply and remove the vinyls and to pay for the vinyls themselves vinyls arnt free and neither is the work that goes into it
not enough to justify not putting them on i presume, also price branding could possibly attract customers if they see "£4.90 DAYSAVER" as they are filling up their vehicle

idk the exact price but NX would buy mass amounts to save money just like they do with fuel

I doubt that £4.90 daysaver would make more peopls go on the bus then a heritage liveried bus but yanno it is what it is

tbh i dont know the point of a heritage livery probably why they stopped it.

seeing £4.90 nearly everyday when you pass a bus will make you think when you check your bank statement

thats meant to be theoretically the point, but updating the fleet due to fare changes wouldnt be cheap

Quote from: tombzy on April 27, 2025, 08:14:35 AMYou say that, but then as a (really stupid but valid) counter-argument.
Why are they repainting any of the fleet from branded liveried buses into price branding that still has a cost attached?
The only buses being painted are those that need doing.

The brandings are vinyls that can just be peeled off, they're not painted on.

Vinyls are cheaper to buy and apply than painting a vehicle.

Daysavers cost £4.80.

Anyway, what does any of this have to do with West Bromwich garage?

Like I stated earlier, it's more cost effective to just have one colour and use vinyl raps rather that using a second colour which is why some of the new Electric buses were delivered in just one shade of grey. By just using one colour it reduces the time spent in the paint area. In the current climate where the finances are tight that's the way it is.

I do wondsr to what extent a vinyl vs paint cost would be assuming all buses had to go into Crimson or The new livery

It seems both 813 and 818 are having issues one way or another.
No bus sent out to cover the missing trips that ive seen. Lovely stuff.
From what bustimes tracking shows no 3a service has been to blackheath since around 2pm

Its due to the sandwell and dudley bridge however i i recon there should have been some sort of replacement for the severe delays caused
