Blackpool Transport has announced an order for 15 more Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 City double decker
buses, due in October 2017. They are expected to be used for a contract for the winter rail replacement service
between Blackpool and Preston. The rail line being closed for six months for electrification. This will take the fleet
of Enviro 400 City buses up to 50, from the first entering service in July 2016 and transforming the fleet.

All of this years order of E400 City's have been delivered (411-35). They've converted services 11 & 14 to Palladium Status. Extended service 6 (which has been extended to Mereside Tesco to replace the 14 which has been curtailed to operate between Fleetwood & Blackpool only) has also been converted to Palladium spec buses but has seen a mixture of the refurbished Plaxton Centro bodied B7RLE's, Mercedes Citaro's & E400 City's.

Tridents 333-49 are all withdrawn now. Optare Solo's 254/6/8/80 are in store. 333 (PN52 XKF) has been reported as sitting in the yard of Tyer's of Adlington.

All USB charging points are to be removed from Blackpool Transports fleet of E400 city's due to vandalism.

Blackpool Transport have taken delivery of 15 more Enviro 200MMC'S, 11 of them are longer 11.8m versions for primary use on services 6 (Grange Park to Mereside) and the 7 (Clifton Hospital to Cleveleys). The 4 shorter examples will presumably add to the 18 delivered last year (221-238) and will allow services 18 & 19 to use E200's from now on.

The last few remaining DAF DB250/ELC Myllenium Lowlanders (367/71/2), Trident 302, and the 06 plate B7RLE/Wright Eclipse Urban's (520-4) are now withdrawn.

Rather surprising, E400City's 401 & 402 have been sold to Warrington's own Buses. 401 has been picked up with 402 soon to follow

Would presume this is part of Jane Coles 5 year bus plan (ie: she doesn't want any buses older than 5 years old in her fleet) @Nathan

It did cross my mind but the oldest City's are less than 4 years old though, so there must be other reasoning. Are they continuing with the strategy past 2020? The original plan she mentioned was that there would be no buses older than 5 years old by 2020, which would've meant the Tridents and Centro's would be moved on, with oldest buses being the 15 plate Citaro's.

From what I have read, talks are ongoing continue the, no buses older than 5 years old policy.

However it's quite surprising that they thought they could get rid of 401 & 2 as when I was in Blackpool at the beginning of November, the Monday to Friday 1 service was still Trident operated and I thought these would go first. There are 4 Deckers and 15 singles on order for delivery in 2020 but don't think that will eliminate the Tridents?!
