What's the reasoning behind that, given that others in that batch, namely the ones now at YW, are being repainted into crimson? I know the saga behind the latest Coventry reprints but I thought that everything above 4425 would be getting the new livery from now.

Each Year buses are nominated for refurbishment in the following year. Total number being dependant on money available. The YW & BC ones need doing under the SQPS agreement so were authorised last year. No more Tridents or Geminis will be authorised as the life left doesn't warrant the spend.

Buses that are an embarrassment will still be given a repaint, but not a refurb

So the likes of 4272 ( excellent interior refurb) will get withdrawn yet the likes of 4550 will carry on for many years with an awful interior??

4272 is about to have a Euro 6 exhaust system put on so won't be going anywhere other than Birmingham City Centre regularly.

Sorry a misunderstanding. Glad to see that 4272 is getting an exhaust system as it certainly doesn't look it's age. 16 years old now I believe... And you certainly wouldn't guess it.
