One evening once, the 37 I got home got from Auckland Road in Sparkbrook to Acocks Green village in 11 minutes - due to a combination of late-running, light traffic and few passengers. The timetable has been loosened now, so it shows as normally taking 22 minutes, but it did used to be a bit less than that.

EDIT: this was on an OmniLink by the way!
My locals:
2 - Birmingham to Maypole | 3 - Birmingham to Yardley Wood
11A/C - Birmingham Outer Circle | 27 - Yardley Wood to Frankley
76 - Solihull to Northfield | 169 - Solihull to Kings Heath

Yes, the X51 on a Bank Holiday Monday. 25 minutes for the whole route!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I've done the last 11C between Acocks Green and Perry Barr in 45-50 minutes. Left Acocks Green at 2330ish, arrived at Perry Barr at 0019. Was around 25-30mins late. Wow that was a fun experience. Nobody on board at all. My traffilog score on that day must have been terrible.

It was a late night 72 when VIP operated it, that I did City Centre to Saltley Gate in 5 minutes.

Fastest journey by bus has to be Leeds to Glasshoughton Station on Stagecoach Hull's X62,

Journey time on the 17:30 departure from Leeds = 18 mins for a journey of 15.5 miles!

Comparing this with the same journey by car, Google estimates this would take 26-45 mins, by the same route i.e. M62!

Even Rail is slower at 23 mins, making the bus the fastest mode of transport!

Does that go via bus-only roads then or something?

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.
