The reason NXWM buses had them fitted was on the advice of the Traffic Commissioner after a very serious incident.

I just hope Diamond never experience a similar incident due to it not being fitted

Diamond currently have demonstrator Mellor Strata LO18 TYD on loan at Tividale. I have seen a photo of it today on the 61 in Wolverhampton if anyone wants to find it.

Not sure if related, but one of their Preston Bus Mellor Strata's 21204 was badly damaged by a lorry which reversed in to it on it's first day in service, it was suggested that it may be being returned to Mellor for repairs.
