I had a look and found the catchment area map.

The routes might be altered./Areas they run to changed.
Ward End, Erdington, Stechford, Yardley, Sutton, Walmley, Bordesley Green etc look to all come under Aston catchment area. So would think 843, 844 and 842 will be able to remain unchanged.

I'm surprised they haven't introduced any services for Bishop Vesey/Sutton Coldfield Girls since they're essentially going to be the only grammars left in Birmingham without a catchment, so there's most likely going to be an influx of students coming from areas just outside of the Birmingham. I presume there's already good enough transport links with it being located just outside the town centre and train station.

They've tried both before without success. Like you say there are good alternatives available

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Green Bus now that the catchment admissions system has been introduced for King Edwards schools, since nearly half their services run too and from these schools. I presume they'll start focusing more on public bus services or their bus hire.

Don't forget about existing students who use the service and may need it for another few years!

76 - Northfield
X20 - Birmingham Via Longbridge, Northfield & QE Hospital / University

The catchment reduction has been on the horizon for a very long time and this is why TGB have been busy expanding into different areas, but demand will still remain within the Foundation schools  and the services will evolve to reflect the new geography, as they do every year. At the point where I left to go to uni, pass sales for 2020/21 had actually reached a record high despite (a) new year 7s being restricted to the new catchment areas and (b) the pandemic.

There are also 6 new services to Warwickshire schools which started in September, I started the whole thing by designing two routes and the demand was so high that a whole network was devised. There are also subsidised services to schools in Solihull and Coventry, and there is likely to be more of this to come.

I believe the daily PVR and fleet size is currently the highest it has ever been in the history of the company and I would expect a further increase in coming months

A google search brought up an article from 2007, which mentioned "707 Great Bridge – Sandwell Colleges via West Bromwich", if it is possible realteration of that one.

Bus Times suggests school service North Birmingham Academy to Handsworth operating off 845.

There is also one showing as 774 Birmingham City Centre - Handsworth. It tracks as operating off the 844.
There is also a "797 Fortis Academy - Handsworth" that tracks as doing that after the bus that does the 843 (SN55BNY).

They appear to be some sort of private school service from what I can make out, which is why they don't appear on the website. Though i'm not sure what they are other than that.

They did used to have another private school route in the Solihull area. As it used to run dead back toward the depot via the X2 route using an Olympian. I'm not sure if that one still runs either. Edit this one seems to be "811 Hockley Heath to Tudor Grange Academy Solihull and St Peter's Catholic School"

I always forget to check bustimes.org

Anywho, this journey is from Handsworth to North Birmingham College (which is what bustimes is saying it is), so it must be that.

The 811 does still operate with 929 under contract to Solihull CC.

Driver lives no where near Chelmsley Wood, its just more convenient for him to park the bus there in between the 811

Thanks @Stu I wasn't too sure if it did do the one way loop at Kinver because it never used to when it was the 228...That's the only reason why I asked...As I didn't know if TfWM got it right... does it show it on any other website as a loop or not?
