NXWM X1 Wolverhampton - Merry Hill (limited stop)

I'm sure they only announced this as a Christmas service, to get your Christmas shopping done at Merry Hill, via a Direct Service, as opposed to alighting from the one. They don't seem to have brought it back this year, so I guess this is right. :)

What about the 99? The one that was operated with E400s, when new at BC. (for Hagley Rd services)

That was the X99, mate

No it wasn't, it was the 99

99 was the new 141 pretty much

...which was the 139, how did that work lol?

What about Travel Express' attempts on the 3. 6 and 529?

Alex, the X1 and X99 both had the same purpose, but the X1 lasted longer

Mike K

Showing my age here but the 72 City (Paradise Circus) to Kitwell via QE Hospital and Quinton Road didn't last long before it was replaced by the the current 22.

Westy

Walsall did a route 353 which served Town, Sainsburys, Leamore, Bloxwich then one way circular via Turnberry & Lower Farm.

They only operated it one christmas. A version of it was tried in the last Wolverhampton bus review and failed miserably!
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

How long did other operators last on the 404?

How about...
85 Kings Heath to Druids Heath via Brandwood Park.
69 Brandwood Park - Wythall.

The 628 Dyas Rd to One Stop and the 28A that looped around Old Oscott terminating outside Great Barr School

Trying (and failing) to remember the route which did the city centre loop of he old 46 while there were roadworks in the city. Around 10 years ago?

I just about remember them. There was a 28B too.

I seem to remember Solo's operating this as the 146, always thought it was a bit silly to duplicate the number of the First 146.

Yes, the 28B was the Small Heath to Dyas route (evenings and Sundays)

I can't quite remember the exact dates - but I'm sure TC/NXC ran a Coventry to Solihull service (numbered 19) replacing the long-standing 192/193/194 group of services. Didn't seem to last very long. The number 19 as has often been used for services on the west side of the city, although a group of 81 services in the same area (certainly as far as Berkswell for a short period) ran as well.

19X and 19W (both had sets of short journeys to Tile Hill as well). Introduced in the Solihull Network Review and replaced by the NXWM 82

Even then the NXWM 82 didn't last very long - by late 2010 it was under Signature control. NXWM routes S2/S3 didn't last very long either - only from January 2009 to June 2010. The S802 which used to run in the peaks as part of the S2/S3, only lasted about 2-3 months. The S2 then got renumbered S2 and S2A/S2C, from S2E to S2.
