Will NXWM ever get Enviro300s

I recently went to Hull and travelled on Stagecoach in Hull E300s which make up alot of their single deck operation. I thought they were a decent ride, doesn't rattle alot and confortable. If NXWM was to get these (hopefully yes) where would they be used or do fellow wm forum users prefer e200 or b7s

Maybe - depends if they will need some to replace the Liberators at WA, and any remaining Mercs. Other than that the single deck fleet is relatively young, with no need for replacements in the short term for the 56 reg Wrights.

Is the Enviro 200/300 getting the MMC upgrade btw? Hope they do - although the Enviro 300s are better than the 200s I've found in the past.

Have to say I agree with that last statement (providing they aren't Ecoshite gearboxes)... And yes the 200 definitely is, think it is being revealed later this year.

I know that one demonstrator was delivered in NX livery in 2009. I think one was used on the 295 Stourbridge Circular

That was the first 1908 Now with new adventure travel. When I last saw with near neighbours Newport Transport it still had NXWM interior (or as close to)

Stagecoach in Hull have both MAN/ADL E300's and all ADL integral E300's, not sure which one you would have traveled on.

NX may take some as part of the multi-year deal with ADL to replace remaining B10L & Mercs at NXWM & B10BLE's in Dundee, but after that I can't imagine that there will be much requirement for new full single deckers after next year, as the fleet is very modern.

I personally prefer the Volvo/Wright combination.

I too prefer the Volvo/Wright setup, or the Scania Omnilinks (although they're now discontinued - replaced by the Scania Citywide). Both are reliable, smart fleets. The NXWM single deck fleet is very young now - certainly will be when the Mercs/Liberators retire. I like the Enviro 400s, but I am still undecided on the Enviro 200s - some are very good - some rattle like anything and the engine is very loud compared to the quiet Scanias and Wrights.

Wrights are you talking Streetlites?

If so for there size they make a right racket.

No I don't mean the Streetlites - they can be just as bad as the Enviro 200s. I just mean the Wright Eclipse Urbans/Volvo B7RLE.

Streetlite isn't a Volvo product anyway  ???

Looking at Liberator9's earlier comment about some realiable, yet discontinued Scanias, I thought I read somewhere here that NX & Scania had a, to quoute, "fall out" - and if true, would never gain any contract/partnership deals within the near future... (Not saying that they would've...)

If not, call me crazy...

P.S. I think the Citywide would look good on some routes, if it were to be converted to RHD for UK use... Possibly an upgrade for the BY fleet, would be nice to see some on the 8. (Despite 7 year old 'modern' buses.)

P.S. #2: Fairplay to Scania, their buses still look top notch and new in the NX fleet, not including the fact that most of these has just been repainted...

Didn't know Scania had fallen out with NX - new one for me. Personally would've rather seen more Scanias than Enviros - rode 1909 today again and excellent ride. Ridden the Johnsons 13/63 reg Scanias and they are good buses - what I like about them is that the interior panels have been furnished in a brighter colour, and makes the bus look more spacious compared the dark grey in NX versions.

The main Omnilink fault is the legroom and interior roof panels - when a screw is missing they rattle a lot. Fair to YW though they care excellently for the fleet. 1912 a few months a go had a very loud rattling of the used ticket bin at the front of the bus - really annoying. Rode it 2 weeks later and the problem had been fixed luckily.

I wasn't aware of the Scania Citywide so have just Googled it. Good god it's ugly. That would be like a throwback to when the Merc 0405Ns were introduced, one of the ugliest vehicles to blight the fleet.

It's a great pity in my opinion that we won't be seeing the Euro 6 B8RLE in the NX fleet. Not a great fan of any of the current ADL single decker offerings.
