Where do you live and what buses do you use?

Don't know if something like this has already been done but thought it would be a good way to get some background information on each other and find out the local routes and garages that we're all most familiar with.

With me, I live in Tile Cross, near the East Meadway, and my closest bus route is the 97, which I use far too much, but other routes within a 5 minute walk are the 14, 59, 70, 71, 72 (all at the crossroads of the Meadway/Kitts Green Rd.) and 5 mins in the other direction from my house I can get the 71 or 94 on Chelmsley Road, Fordbridge. Or there's the S20 and 91 I can get on Tile Cross Road which are of no use to me, or it's about a 10 minute walk down to Tile Cross shops if I ever needed to get the 17.

Closest garage to me is probably Bordesley.

I live in Smethwick. The (Arriva) 21 and (WB) 46 run on my road. The 55 (Diamond) and 89 are round the corner from me (2-3 minute walk). Up the road, are the 48 and 129. The 53 and 120 are a five minute walk up the road, the 83 is a 5 minute walk in the opposite direction. The 54/A (Diamond), 80 and 87 - as well as Smethwick Galton Bridge railway station, are 10 mins away.

Overall, I have really good transport links. I always get the train over anything else, as there are 4 trains per hour to New Street and 6 to Snow Hill/Moor Street. If I do get the bus, my first options are 83/89 and 129, just because they run the closest to me - although I often just get whatever comes first, or just the 80 home if I'm by the markets. On a Sunday, the 83/89 and 120 are the closest options, and they run within 15 minutes of each other at Colmore Row at xx:05 (120), xx:20 (83), xx:35 (120), xx:50 (89)

Ive recently moved to Oakham near Dudley. So my locals are the 120 with a nice variety of B7RLEs Tridents and Enviro 400s. The 121 with its brand new enviro 200s. 127 with any WB Double decker. 126 short walk down the hill and Hanson's 208, with Arriva on the evening and Sunday's.

So it's all pretty handy. Got direct buses to 2 major cities. Most local black country towns over this side. and Merry hill. And a nice variety  :)

This Is true... However. With the 127 frequency being every 30 minutes across the Dudley hills. Presidents are aloud I believe.

I live in the Wednesfield area of Wolverhampton. My local routes are the NX59 (WN) and 69/89 (WA).
Also along the main Lichfield Rd is the Arriva Cannock 68 which adds a bit of variety amongst the NX buses. I get a variety of vehicle types with Tridents, E400H's and a couple of Spectra's on the 59, B7RLE's and Tridents (With Omnilinks and E400's sometimes thrown ito the mix) on the 89 with B10L's on the 69.

Then you have the Arriva 18 and 57 that serve Stubby Lane. This used be served by NX's former 528 service however it goes Via New Invention now.


Also you have the 25A/C within a 10 minute walk of my house and the 28 is 6-7 minutes away on Peacock Avenue

WN garage is my main area of expertise/interest and is about 10/15 minutes drive away. Walsall is about 15-20 minutes car journey away going through Bloxwich

I never bother with trains to be honest, I've got Lea Hall Station about a 10 minute walk away or Marston Green about a 20 minute walk, but by the time I've got to the train station and waited for a train I could be halfway there on a bus :P

I don't think they are, the 127 may be on the same VOSA registration as the 128 and 129, and all these routes combine to make a 10 minute frequency

I'm lucky I live at a station with 10 trains per hour to a Birmingham. I never have to wait any longer than 12 minutes for a train. Rolfe St is closer, but less trains per hour, if I get the bus to Birmingham, I'll be looking at an approx. 30 minute journey, whereas the train gets me into Birmingham in 7-10 minutes

Anyone who knows me outside of here knows I live in Kings Heath by Hazelwell Church.
Local Buses are the 11A, 11C and 35 all a 5 minute walk from my house, the Johnsons 69 is about an 8 minute walk from mine although I don't use it. I also have the 27 10 minutes away and the 76 15 minutes away. I do also have the 50 just over 15 minutes away but don't really bother.
I get a great mixture of Presidents, Geminis, The Good Enviro 400, Tridents and the occasional Scania.

Just need Hazelwell Station reopened now and I'd be sorted :D

Shirley Road in Acocks Green village, a 1 min walk from the bus interchange.

Although I only use NX buses myself, there's a nice mixture round here:
Plaxton President B7TLs on the 1 and 11A/C
Wright Gemini B7TLs on the 1, 11A/C, 31 and 37
Wright Eclipse B7RLEs on the 1 and 37
Scania Omnilinks on the 1 and 37

More importantly, at present now, its a Dennis Trident and Enviro400 free zone!  ;)

And then a mix of whatever the other operators put out:
Optare Solos and ADL Enviro200s and the occasional Wright Streetlite on the Silverline 36
Plaxton Primos, Enviro200s on the WMSNT 40
Optare Solos, Versas, Enviro200s, Dennis Darts on the Diamond 30, 96 and 99

If ever the need arises to catch a train, there are two rail stations within a 10 minute walk, Spring Road and Acocks Green.
